The truth is even if bayelsa has access to 100% of their revenue..the state would still be worst of..because of the corruption and backward thinking of their leaders.

Some of you are just stark illiterate you think oil exploration just started with just land drilling without putting head together can your niger delta pay the amount of money made by both north, and southwest before oil exploration started.

I say a big Yes to that, even with interests and an added bonus. But can your region ever stop being parasitic on the ND oil? And just a word of advice stop throwing insults when making your points it shows how frustrated and empty you are.

I am from the Niger Delta (Edo) and sadly I have to disagree with the governor. Niger delta governors since 1999 have been the most usless, corrupt grups of rascals the nations has produced. He's moaning about 13%, what have the governors done with the 13% they get? Acorss the 6 Niger Delta states, is there any proper cancer diagnosis facility in any of the state hospitals? Is any of the sttes that boast that all the primary and secondary school buildings of are in a good condition or all the kids have seats in thier classes?
Even if you gave the SS 100% revenue allocation, the states will still be a mess, the governors will just buy more properites and pirvate planes. They are evil and selfish.
Its better the FG takes the money uses it to develop the whole country

no sir, but bayelsa state has never accounted for even 10 percent of the billions allocated to it since 1999. If u visit there, you will understand. It has 8 local governments, one third of average Niger delta state.bayelsa has the resources to be far more developed than Lagos. I know what am saying
Are you from bayelsa? Do they owe you any account?

Had Lagos accounted for all the trillions they get?

Without the initial federal investment in Lagos
How is Lagos better than bayelsa

Bayelsa has nothing to show even being one of the recipients of highest allocation in the nation. Considering its small size, it should be El Dorado.

even if you give baylesa state 101% derivation, it will still be a poorly managed shithole

lazy leaders winding mentally lazy yoots
if only we had more money to embezzle, we would make the state a paradise

even when GEJ was in the seat, the only development he or should i say his wife could think of for bayelsa was a hotel

It shall never be well with individuals that organized this event covered award to a know thief. Since 1991 the state has been created with huge allocation coming to the state with their just 8 local government and about 700k population the state government can't provide a drinkable water still importing table water from lagos and Edo state.

He shouldn't call for allocation increment but separation of the country I want to see how bayelsa will become Eldorado. The same allocation is what Akwa ibom and calabar including rivers state go to those state and see infrastructures.

Speaking over the weekend in Houston, Texas, when Ijaws in the United States of America and Canada conferred on him the award of “Icon of Unity and Social Justice” as part of the three-day 2024 convention organized by Ijaw National Congress (INC)-Americas, Diri appreciated the organisers for upholding the Ijaw tradition and culture even in the diaspora.

Stop distorting fact. Bayelsa wasn't created in 1991

The salient message is why should the resources from one State be shared monthly by all, when resources from other States are not distributed in the same manner. cool

Bayelsa just like some other States in South South e.g. Delta and Akwa Ibom receive the highest allocations plus 13% derivation fund plus NDDC allocations.. where are they all entering?

South South Governors want to start behaving like their South East counterparts that steal billions upon billions of naira from their States and then share garri or semo with oha/egusi soup in takeway packs, fried fish inside too to buy the silence of their people, treating them live livestock, attimes 1 litre of kerosene per head or #500 to pregnant women in the States.

When true Federalism comes, we'll see how ignorant people will continue pointing accusing fingers towards others who are having it bad in terms of leadership and infrastructure.

•He is just being economical with the Truth because even the 13% given now and then is a Special Money and added to the ones Buhari- govt gave the Niger- Delta Region through their Governors,in 2023- Back- to Back-then and the Billions -Palliatives,given to ALL the Governors in Nigeria, for the reductions in Subsidies Removal Effecs is not being felt by the Masses!
•- Can he and the States Emprors,in Nigeria- Accounts for them?
•He should come back to Nigeria and give Detailed Accounts of all this Homongous Money, for the State as small as Bayelsa- should be a Dubai - by now,if all those resources are Judiciously used!
Unfortunately, even the NLC- have cummed,as they play more Politics than calling the Executive of most States into action!
Our States Governors are the real Problems of Nigeria!

See this thief. With only 8 local government, of which some parts are water, its not an excuse for you and ur gang to steal aggressively
Don't mind the real barawo, with only 8 Local Governments and a population less than 3 million what have the successive governments done with the over N15 billion monthly allocations? Name one single infrastructure in Bayelsa state. The state ranks poorly in all economic and social metric - education, security, infrastructure, etc.

Let everyone develop their place with what they can generate. This is the main reason yorubas and the north are scared of Biafra agitation. Lazy leeches can't work but want to eat

Excuses when he knows not what to do, Bayelsa is yet to have a visionary governor. Rumour has it that they prefer stomach infrastructure to actual physical infrastructure

Majority of the population of the states you mentioned has been asking for division to stop receiving such, but you and your people have always been jittery and scared of their demand. Why not support such agitation if you think you can feed yourself??
