I don see shege from FirstBank no be small.

So, I have money in my first bank account but can't touch that money.

This issue has been going on for about 2+ weeks now.

So, I received about 70k from my Amazon publisher account and first bank automatically froze the account.

I went to the bank and they said I need to do KYC since I was operating a student account.

I said okay, no problem na, let me do the KYC. To start the process, they said my BVN name and account name are not matching.

They then ask me to bring an affidavit from the court. I rushed to court to get one.

Affidavit that's N500, the clerk in the court was charging us N2,000. But clearly it was written on it that it's N500.

Anyways, since I have over 70k in my account, I didn't care much. So I paid the 2k for the affidavit.

I should have known that this problem tie gele for head with hand bag.

Naso I enter bank o. I submitted the documents to correct the BVN. They then asked me to come back in 3-5 days.

Ha, where I wan see money stay till then? I just spent the last cash I have on the affidavit!

Naso I take trek from bank reach school hostel that day.

In 3 days time, I went back. Nothing show. They kept saying they are not able to do anything that it is the CBN's fault.

The matter weak me sha. Because that 70k was my hope for this month.

I trekked back again. And returned 5 days later and this time the bvn name has been changed.

Okay. I was happy that anyhow they will unfreeze my account today.

For where?..!!

I went to the other customer agent. She then asked for my national ID card, nepa bill. I gave her everything.

The next thing she said was I should come back in 10 days time!

Like how now? You have all my details why am I to come back in 10 days time?

This is the same account I've been using since 2015 o.

I was really depressed that day because how do I survive 10 days when I have no kobo on me eh?

It was really frustrating honestly.

I just left the bank that day with anger, frustration, hunger and another round of trekking to the hostel.

Traditional banks need to do better. I've been using Opay and never faced this type of issues before.

Yesterday, being the 5th day, first bank sent me a mail that my application is now successful.

I thought they've resolved the issue.

So, I decided to skip lectures today and hurry to the bank only to be told that they will need to take the documents to Lagos and so it'll take some time.

So right now, my money is locked away in the bank till further notice.

I've been relying on my roommate for food and everything in between since the beginning of this wahala.

But this economy no be wetin person suppose dey carry another person for head o. He has been trying but Kai, I just wish things are different.

Please if you get any online work wey I fit help you do, abeg let me know.

I can do flyer design. Website development. Writing. Etc.

Anything you can outsource, please do. I really need some money for essentials till I resolve this issue.

I just finish from class group studies with hunger now and thought I should reach out.

** the worst thing was that my uncle even sent me 10k yesterday.

Normally he'll call and ask if he should send the money to my Opay, first bank or PalmPay account.

But strangely, yesterday he didn't. He just sent the 10k straight to my first bank account.

I saw the alert yesterday I wan kolo grin

I just had to call him and thank him quietly grin
