What I don’t understand is 3 helicopters where in a convoy on a trip, one when down and the other two which would have been filled with security personnel didn’t go back to look for them, but instead continued and landed safely.

Why didn’t they go back to search immediately or am o missing something?

Avoid helicopters, they fly lower than aeroplanes, have less margin for error and can't glide in case of malfunction
