Cross River House Of Assembly Speaker, Ayambem Impeached by InfoGuru118: 12:26pm On May 22

The Cross River House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker Rt. Hon. Elvert Ekom Ayambem.

The impeachment motion was moved by Hon. Effiom Ekarika representing Calabar South 1 Constituency and seconded by Hon. Omang Charles Omang representing Bekwarra State Constituency.

After impeaching him, the mace was taken away by the members.

Rt Hon Elvert Ayambem was elected Speaker of the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly in June 2023.

Ayambem, represents Ikom 2 State Constituency in the Houses of Assembly.

That is all governors in Nigeria know. Very nonsense set of people. At the end of the day, nothing will be achieved in the state. Look at the infamous element Obaseki in Edo State as reference. These are the people you want to give state police. The end is near indeed. Nigeria will be finished.

Maybe just maybe the order for his impeachment might have come from oga at the top who may have seen him as a threat or seen him as not being loyal

Maybe he was eating the pie alone and they decided to shove him aside...I don't know why democracy which has been practised in America over 150 years will become unrecognisable just few years in Nigeria....any good thing that comes our greedy political class will see loopholes to bastardize it

I seriously doubt the capability of governors to manage state police. The guys are too power-drunk. The enormous authority the constitution bestows on them too makes matters really worse.

I pray state police never sees the light of the day

He no use one year in office.
The day this democracy they are doing demonstration of crazy ll be destroyed, na politicians themselves go cause am.
We nor enjoy military rule, saying no freedom of speech, oppression etc.
Civilian rule came, we no get freedom of food and oppression turned to suppression!
What an annoying nation!
