I still remember vividly what caused a governor his second term election in my state back then.

He increased the workers salary and went to the market places to tell the market women to increase the price of goods as his has increased the workers salary. That was it. He loss his reelection as an incumbent.

With the Labour union unrealistic proposal, inflation is inevitable

You are busy making stupid assertions about the minimum wage causing inflation. Blaming the minimum wage but leaving out the major cause, which is calamitous economic policies, Policy flip-flops undertaken by the Tinubu administration

Is the current hyperinflation we are experiencing caused by the minimum wage increase?

Where do the Labour union expect the government to get the funds? To borrow or to increase more tax base which Nigerians are fuming at both?

What should happen to private sector workers, how would they be able to cope in the same economy where the government workers would be earning X300% of their basic salary?

What would happen to Nigeria economy with government paying N500k as salary? Inflation of course.

Labour union are only after salary increase but not after fishing out the ghost workers and those with shady certificates who consume chunk of the salaries paid by government

But your god is realistic with the desolation he has caused with his maladministration?

You're not too well informed.

What's the percentage of those paying minimum wage in the private sector?

What's the current value of 500k as compared to when the naira was yet to be floated?

What's is minimum wage?

How is the minimum wage of a country arrived at?

If you know the answers to the above , you won't create this thread to call labour unrealistic.

@lastParagraph, who employed the ghost workers. Because of politics the govt can't fire underperforming employees nor ghost employees so what are you convulsing like a demented goat for?

Weren't the government paying a 4 trillion naira Subsidy on petroleum yearly? Weren't they paying close to 2 trillion on electricity Subsidy yearly?
The government should add that money to all workers.

The government should increase minimum wage but labour should be realistic. 500k minimum wage is unrealistic and not attainable. If a cleaner is earning 500k monthly, how much will a director now earn? It is not achievable at all. Labour should fix minimum wage at 100k. That is realistic.

They even forgot about inflation. Asking for 500k as minimum salary will inflate everything, things of 1k might rise to 10k.
