Intelligent submission. Very Brilliant!

emkz:

All candidates agreed that subsidy had to go.

Buhari subtly removed it by refusing to make budgetary provisions for it. Tinubu ought to have left it at that. But announcing it sent shock waves across the country because those wicked marketers hoarded products.

Defending the naira was also a form of dollar subsidy. You may not be aware that banks were hoarding fx because of the exchange rate differential. Also, there were too many BDCs unregistered that were doing the round-tripping. Like I argued then, every major currency is floated, but the market for trading fx is not floated. It is heavily regulated. But subsidizing dollar sakes, we open and sustain a new avenue of stealing by the already corrupt class. Okay, all the dollars Cardi B pumped into the system, what economic activity were they tied to?

Nothing! Just a store of wealth by the rich. The dollar subsidy had to go to free up funds for other things.

Are you aware that funds to universities and other tertiary institutions had increased? Are you also aware that FAAC allocations to states have increased?

As for minimum wage, many people do not know that FG pays more apart from the minimum wage. There are allowances that many civil servants would never talk about. I made a topic on it yesterday.

Ask any NNPC worker about allowances.

FG can pay 200k minimum wage because they already pay cumulatively up to that to some workers in the form of cumulated allowances. But the disparity with states that cannot pay will lead to an economic crisis. When retailers jerk up prices when they hear minimum wage increment, they never ask if you are a federal or state worker.

As for failure, Tinubu has not failed. Historically, one year is for settling in, two years for governance and the last year for politicking. If anything, Tinubu has shown he is bold and daring. He has learnt to be more tactical and diplomatic.

I don't see him failing.

Good idea.

It is his constitutional right.

Atiku has taken the record for the greatest number of presidential runs.

In 2023, he had the best shot in his life for the position. He had to be defeated to realize that division can be calamitous.

Unlike the other one, Atiku knew he lost. Because he knew this, he went to Chicago State University to prove an unfounded allegation that Tinubu never graduated from there. When he realized Tinubu graduated, he tried to prove Tinubu forged a certificate. When he realized that the Registrar of the University said they don't handle replacement certificate, Atiku took his deposition and brought it to the Supreme Court.

No US court stamped it, no US agency notarized it, no US Embassy authenticated it.
Atiku knew his deposition was inadmissible.

If he believed he won, why didn't he present his polling unit agents results from the field? If he believed the election wasn't free and fair, why didn't he publish cases of irregularities?

Atiku and the other one tried to plunge Nigeria into a constitutional crisis because they lost. They are not leadership materials. However, they stand a chance if Tinubu fails.

As for Atiku, if you ever want to run again, you must avoid the following persons:

1. Dino Melaye: this is the guy you allowed to lead your campaign. He is not mature for such responsibilities.

2. Phrank Shaibu: This one spent time attacking Tinubu instead of convincing voters about your programmes. He also defended the failure of your media team to do the proper work. He misadvised you to grant two press conferences that did not cover you in glory.

3. Daniel Bwala: This one has visited the person who defeated you more than three times in 5 months. He seems to already avoid you. Either he was a mole in your campaign or never believed in you.

4. Don Pedro Obaseki: He was your head of research and ought to have been aware and properly advised you that the Chicago route was a calamity for you. The premise that Tinubu never graduated was wrong. When you realized he graduated, you shifted to certificate forgery, which ended up being punctured. He failed to guide you properly.

5. Paul Ibe: This one only became visible after you lost.

6. David Hundeyin: This one was discredited by Oxford over matters of sexism and fraud by Oxford University. He released stories on Tinubu that were based on speculations and sold them to you. He scammed you.

7. Dele Momodu: Wike referred to him as a professional buttlicker.

8. Timi Frank: In 2022, this one lied that Tinubu did not graduate from Chicago. He claimed EFCC and FBI had a letter stating so. No one saw the letter and no one knew if he was high when he said this.

9. Nduka Obaigbena: This one could not come out openly to use his media houses to endorse you.

Others are: Peter Obi (he cost you the election) and Ifeanyi Okowa (he was not as enthusiastic as you in his desperation).

I cannot add Reno Omokri, because you never gave him a role in your campaign. I suspect he tweeted the condemnation of the lynching of Deborah Samuel Yakubu on your behalf on Twitter. You deleted the tweet and pushed him away.

Reno believed in you more than the others who scammed you of your money.

Baba I salute your ingenuity .
You sound like a great historian and journalist

One of the things you said here is misleading, it's not every country that float their currency. Floating of the currency depends on how the economy of the nation is doing, Nigeria economy is not yet good for currency floating
that's why a partial subsidy was added to the oil, naira, religious prigrimage and even palliative of which most was looted

My argument is that every major currency is floated, but the markets for trading those currencies are heavily regulated.

Here is a comment on this:
Fixed vs. Floating Currencies
Today, there are two types of currency exchange rates that are still in existence—floating and fixed. Major currencies, such as the Japanese yen, euro, and the U.S. dollar, are floating currencies—their values change according to how the currency trades on foreign exchange or forex (FX) markets.
This type of exchange rate is based on supply and demand. This rate is, therefore, determined by market forces compared to other currencies. Any changes in currency pricing point to strength in the economy, while short-term changes may point to weakness.
https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/061015/top-exchange-rates-pegged-us-dollar.asp#:~:text=Major%20currencies%2C%20such%20as%20the,based%20on%20supply%20and%20demand.

In some countries, every fx transaction is tracked to the bones. In Nigeria, anyone can just start a BDC and start trading. In Opebi junction, you'd find hawkers soliciting buyers of fx publicly! In Benin City, I forgot the name of the junction, the same thing. In NNPC towers, the ground floor is a market for fx!

What sort of uncontrolled and unregulated market is that?

Nigeria economy is not yet good for anything because of historical lack of controls. All those subsidies you mentioned, which one of them has not been abused? You even said palliatives are looted.

Do you know one of the UN agencies donated some school bags to IDPs and labelled "Not for Sale", only for the bags to be hawked on the streets?

I just tire.

It is interesting that the large number of those giving Atiku "advice" on this thread are from the opposition.

It seems they are also tired of the bulaba they installed but since they've morally and emotionally invested themselves in the calamitous and locust APC, they are like the proverbial flies the that must follow the corpse into the grave. I feel for them. They claim to know politics but they don't have an alternative to their present quagmire. Instead, they engage in obtuse mockery as scant reward for being on the "winning side" while their lives and living are sacrificed for the enjoyment of their beloved oppressors. They are like chickens joining Christians in celebrating the onset of Christmas or Rams dressing up for Sallah with their Muslim owners.

Fact is, whether the opposition unite or not, or Atiku contests, or backs Obi, or Obi agrees to be Vice to Atiku, none of the APC supporters have a preferred choice in the outcome of the matter. They are in a lose-lose situation. But they can't admit it.

That is good for him. According to human rights law, he has every right to associate himself with any political organization. He has civil rights and political rights nevertheless about his political participation. I am happy for him because he has always aiming for his life trophy goals for over 20 years which is good. It is left for the Nigerians to exercise their franchise as long the universal franchise is recognized by the constitution of the people of Nigeria. He will dream but his dream needs to be fulfilled through the eligible voters to cast their votes for him before his dream can be achieved. As a person; I don’t believe in his charismatic leadership. He doesn’t always speak at large for the people of Nigerians. He is a religious extremist, he doesn’t believe in the principles of the rule of law and principles of democracy which are fairness and equality. He is trying to be the president but he will never achieve it because of the bad policies he involved himself when he was the vice president. He looted and sold the country's national heritage to his friends for a cheap amount.
