The Osun State Chapter of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) held its Ordinary General Meeting on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

The event, led by ACPN Chairman Pharmacist Ropo Ogunwale, took place at the Fellow Anthony Adedayo Building, also known as the Pharmacy House, in Osogbo.

The meeting featured a keynote presentation by Pharmacist Nyeche Justice O. on "Current Trends in Diabetes Management...The Role of Community Pharmacists." This talk underscored the vital role that community pharmacists play in managing diabetes, highlighting recent advancements and best practices in the field.


Key highlights of the meeting included:
- Products Exhibition: Shalina and Fidson Pharmacy showcased their latest pharmaceutical products.
- Updates on Association Activities:Members received updates on recent and upcoming ACPN initiatives.
- Networking Opportunities: Attendees had the chance to connect and collaborate with fellow pharmacists.
- Masterclass on Diabetes Management: An in-depth session on managing diabetes was conducted, providing valuable insights and practical knowledge.
- Legal Interactions: ACPN legal expert, Barrister Ogunsola, was on hand to discuss legal matters relevant to the profession.

Several dignitaries graced the event, including Osun State Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharmacist Michael Omoniyi; former state chairmen, Pharm Adedoyin Felix, Pharm Kamorudeen Bankole, Pharm Tosin Daramola (Osun ACPN Vice President); and Pharm (Mrs) Ismail Aisha (Osun ACPN Secretary), among others.

Fellows of the PSN present included Pharm. Adepoju Ojo, Pharm. Adebiyi Rabb, Pharm. Adewoye of Samtad Pharmacies and others.

Also community pharmacists from all over the state converged at Osogbo for the meeting.

The meeting was a significant success, fostering professional development, enhancing knowledge on diabetes management, and strengthening the community of pharmacists in Osun State.
