It is their critique that compelled them to adopt this strategy to prove the critics wrong. In a democracy, opposition is what makes everyone sit up. With that, everyone wins.

THEY NEED TO SEND THIEFNUBUU OUT OF ASO ROCK AND REPLACE HIM WITH A MILITARY SO WE KNOW THAT NIGERIA IS UNDER DICTATORSHIP.

THIEFNUBUU NEVER WON ANY ELECTION AND HAS NO MANDATE.

THE LAST THING NIGERIA NEEDS OR A PRIORITY IN THIS HUNGRY AND POVERTY STRICKEN COUNTRY IS COASTAL ROAD JUST FOR AESTHETICS. IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF OUR LIMITED RESOURCES AND ABSOLUTELY UNNECESSARY.

1)THE ENTIRE SS/SE/NC/NE DO NOT HAVE A VIABLE RAILWAY LINE. IT WAS GEJ FROM SS THAT BUILT THE RAILWAY IN SW AND NW, COMPLETED BY AMAECHI UNDER BUHARI. IT WIL BE BETTER FOR THIEFNUBUU TO COMPLETE THE RAILWAY PROJECT SO THE COUNTRY CAN BE WELL CONNECTED.

2) WE HAVE A POWER OUTAGE PROBLEM IN NIGERIA. THE MONEY FOR THAT ROAD WILL GO A LONG WAY TO HELP US ADDRESS OUR POWER ISSUE, WHICH WILL LEAD TO INDUSTRIALISATION

3)NIGERIA HAS A VERY LARGE COASTLINE, NIGER REPUBLIC IS LANDLOCK, ALONGSIDE BURKINA FASO AND CHAD ETC. FOR TINUBU TO GREEDILY SEEK A PORT IN LAGOS TO BE THE SOLE PORT SERVING EVERYBODY FROM NORTH TO SOUTH, EAST TO WEST IS UNPATRIOTIC AND OUTRIGHT UNREASONABLE.

4)PEOPLE IN SE NIGERIA WILL FIND IT VERY EASY TO OPERATE FROM A DEEP SEAPORT IN CALABAR, AKWAIBOM RIVERS, DELTA EVEN ONDO. THE PORTS IN LAGOS WILL ALWAYS BE VIABLE BUT ALL THE PORTS CANNOT BE IN LAGOS AND LAGOS SHOULD LOOK NORTH WEST, WHILST WE CONSTRUCT PORTS IN SS FOR THE NORTH EAST.

what will make the project talk of the town in Africa? what is the benefit of the road project to Nigerians? why are you praying for funds to complete? is it prayer that will provide funds? is it prayer you use to provide logo for your customers or will your customers give you job and tell you they are praying for funds before they pay you?

the headline says "construction begins". the first sentence of the article says "The Federal Government has announced the immediate start of construction work on sections three and four of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, beginning from Calabar."

how is announcement the same thing as "begins"?

We have forced them to start at Calabar and Akwa ibom. It was never their initial plan, otherwise they would have said it since the pressure was mounted on them. Now let's see what they've got.

they have not started. its just an announcement. even if they start, what is the benefit of the "starting"?

Government should fix existing roads first.

Tell the state governors to do so. Or what are they using their monthly allocations for?

If only you had paid attention instead of listening to gbajue propaganda in your echo chambers. It was stated weeks ago before the governors conference or obong of calabar's speech that phase 3 will start from Calabar in July. Now they are starting weeks earlier which is even better. This was likely brought forward to shutdown naysayers like yourself.

2nd Niger Bridge wasn't a ''misplaced priority'' in their heads even though it is literally within WALKING DISTANCE of the 1st Niger Bridge that they could all be using.

In fact just leave these Obidients.

They're hopeless.

pls what is the reason for building the 2nd Niger bridge?

Majority of all federal roads are in relatively good conditions, considering the tropical environment of the country. Tell your state governors to fix the ones linking their communities and their intra-city road systems. The FG cannot do everything with their limited resources.

The Tinubu government must leave a lasting structural legacy benefitting the large expanse of the country, and the Lagos - Calabar coastal roads project is one of them.

Umahi's statement shows FG listens to criticism. Why is Lagos zero point? If they can complete Calabar to Port Harcourt it is enough for us. They can do their Eko Atlantic Lagos ring road in disguise without noise.
