Yes, I’m irredeemably patriotic and optimistic of a better Nigeria while you’re an irredeemably bitter and pessimistic person who don’t want to hear good news about the country simply because a useless Peter Obi lost the election.

So building common road in year 2024 is a good news? grin

Ir shows how low the APC have gotten.

No good news in Nigeria for the past 10 years.

A 700km coastal highway is not a common road. It is an engineering wonder that will attract even tourists from all over the world. If it’s so common place, it would have been done so many years ago.

We have forced them to start at Calabar and Akwa ibom. It was never their initial plan, otherwise they would have said it since the pressure was mounted on them. Now let's see what they've got.

Let's take it that your criticism made them to start from Calabar (phase 3) and Akwa Ibom (phase 4) but we should appreciate that they listened to you and it's bcoz it was part of their plans and policy.

Probably your shout and agitation hastened it bcoz you can shout shout and shout and if it was not in their original plans and policy they wouldn't do it, and there's nothing you can do after all you didn't vote for him.

Thank you Mr. President for being such an impartial and understanding leader. Your sincerity of purpose and nationalistic approach to every issue is inspiring. We need more leaders to be this altruistic instead of being selfish, bitter and viewing every issue from political prism like the Gbajue man.

Nonsense! This colossal failure is now resorting to “carry me dey go”. Who has not noticed that Tinubu's handlers are only reacting to accommodate criticism of the disgraceful policies and trajectory of this government? Their eyes are set on 2027, but unfortunately for them, so are Nigerians.

Wait till when the candidate of your choice get there.

If building a Coastal road is not a good news just bcoz your hamlet is not on the corridor so be it.

But those Niger Deltans whose villages and towns are about to be opened up on the corridor for economic prosperity and infrastructural devt are praising Tinubu.

SenatePresdo the wailing is yours. Those who are wise have started buying lands on the corridor for hospitality and entertainment businesses while you keep on wailing.

That's the problem with Nigerians and why we are stagnant.

Its always about what they would gain, forgetting others who are in the majority that are not in position to gain anything.

So if i buy land along the road and build filling station in other to make money, how does that reduce the price of garri for common men to eat?

Work on things that would benefit everybody more positively, not doing things like road which already has an alternative.
Do the ones that have no alternative.

Tinunu should build the economy
I'm not saying road is bad, but its not a priority for now, they should repair the ones already built before.

A road through flat and swampy land, usually filled with sand, is an engineering marvel?. C'mon, man, that's a non-starter. Procuring this road in the current state of the country's economy is a testimony to the fact that there is more than meets the eye. What Southern Nigeria needs right now in terms of road infrastructure is a complete reconstruction of the existing most economic thoroghfare in the country, the Shagamu-Ore-Benin-Asaba road. The Lagos end begins at Epe.

It will then continue from the Onitsha end through the existing road to Owerri-Portharcourt and connect to the existing East-West road to Cross River via Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states.

The white elephant Tinubu and his friend Chaugry are using to fleece our treasury is a clear manifestation of what we have already known and warned about the thief in Aso Rock called Tinubu. Since he is listening and adapting to the voices of dissent, why doesn't he acquiesce to our collective opinion that this is not the time for a project clearly conceived as a “steal us dry” vehicle.

It's not about what you would gain but to accept the new policy, key into it, provide services to people on the corridor like Petrol Stations, selling at govt approved prices, open restaurants along the corridor to provide food for travelers, hotels for those who may want to relax or break the journey, etc. What is bad in providing services and making money?

SenatePresdo, opening that road corridor would bring economic prosperity and infrastructural devt to people on the Coastal road corridor. Their businesses will open up and blossom. Don't doubt the magnitude of the gains to the people living in the areas.

So, who are the majority you're talking about?

The majority doesn't have to be the beneficiary in the short run. No Policy that can favour everybody. Even as a father in the family, you come up at times with certain policies that your wife would frown at.

Only few would take advantage of the new development. That's how life is. Remember the Bible says the poor shall never cease from the land.

It's those who are financially okay that would take advantage and provide the needed services for the benefits of others.

I seriously don't understand how a country will be talking about constructing roads when the fuel that the citizens will use to ply the all golden tourist road is hitting #900 per liter....

Am still wondering, how a Country is building a heavenly road when bandits and kidnappers have not left the existing roads as government has made it clear that they can't handle such issues...

Am still worried , how the supporters of Government, found it compromising that only South Easterners are not happy about the road, therefore they hate South Southerners....lols

Am still wondering, how a government is yet to tackle food inflation, insecurity and all have you, yet building a road with trillions of Naira is the best they can offer at the moment....

If you think you know this government of APC well and all I said are fallacies, make a projection of how this Government will subdue the current tides and waves of Inflation pushing the economy to a more deeper landslide...

Why Umahi , President, Senate , Governors etc are seeing the road as a good venture is just because the hunger in Nigeria does not affect their families, and as the economy of Nigeria gets worst, their allowances, also gets renewed and gets fats....

But the masses are left to die in their dilapidated homes or have patience with a clueless Government ...lols

There is more hope for a fool, than for a wise Government of APC that sees from their eyes ...

How foolish And Dumb you sound.
So the Nigerian highways needs to be 💯 safe before the government can start building new infrastructures?

Can you put a time frame on security?
You guys are very very foolish and myopic thinking you sound intelligent like you master Yo-yo bitters .
You can’t say I’ll end insecurity in one year or two years or three years. Security is a going concern, and you can’t put everything on hold because you’re fighting insecurity.

Eg, Ukraine & Russia war , Ukraine should put all her economic activities on hold just because they want to protect their land from Russia ? .
a country at war is still doing everything economically to stay viable , talk less of Nigeria.

because security is the most important thing, economic projects or any other thing will be put on hold from your POV?

Just like insinuating that, fuel price is high , the economy is tough , inflation here and there etc.
All these things you made mention of are going concern , you don’t put everything on hold just to tackle, security, inflation or any other thing.

This coastal high way will open 700k km
corridors to business, which is an economic benefits, goods and services from SS-SW will be cheaper by 50% or less because the travel time has reduced. Is that not an economic benefit?
Families from South /South will be able to connect with their families at low cost , or they don’t serve it too?

Pressure on the existing federal roads which makes it deteriorate on time will reduce , now roads will last longer is also an economic benefit.

Anyone who has ever faced traffic on 1st Niger bridge will never criticize the government for building the 2nd Niger bridge. The whole country kept quiet when that project was on and didn’t call it misplaced priority even when Nigeria was the number capital of poverty in the world.

only bigotry & hatred will make a sane person criticize this project. The only thing I’ll say is that the project might be bloated which is prevalent to Nigeria settings starting from inception. but with time as corruption reduces project can actually go for the price but criticizing the economic benefits it’s a NO-NO.

They encountered challenges in the lagos end due to numerous communication cables crossing the terrain, they can't progress the Lagos end and may have to divert the route after the unnecessary demolitions, an EIA would have identified this risk but none was conducted and now they are deceiving gullible Nigerians that they want to start from Calabar.
