So without the World Bank, you can't function? With all the resources this country has? What a shame! Corruption, mismanagement and incompetence have destroyed Nigeria. |

It's due to the rainy season nah! Besides, that's not an achievement! Saying you are maintaining 5000MW for a country of more than 200 million Nigerians is unbelievable and pathetic! If I may ask....what's the point of declaring their achievement in one year when it's not directly affecting the lives of citizens directly? And shouldn't this exercise be interactive where questions are thrown to them and they reply? 1 Like |

AK481: Read it well. He didn’t say it’s new. He admitted it’s localised technology but needs expansion nationally into the grid. |

There is always increased supply during raining season. The only time it will believe any improvement is when we enter the dry season and they can still sustain power up to 20 hours within a day. 1 Like |

SCADA is the solution to the power grid being automated? Who briefed this chap on what SCADA is? It matters more what you are running on the SCADA. It is not a magic bullet. Note my field is automation systems. |

SoNature: Most of what you have said is largely true but you might be mistaken about Fashola. Different tools for different tasks. I believe that Fashola's tenure as Minister of Power was mostly spent looking into the contractual terms of agreement with the Private sectors who bought into the sector during the privatisation exercise. Some stupid exit clauses were fraudulently inserted into the contracts and if we were not careful, we could have a PID kind of case on our hands. I believe that he uncovered some loopholes that the Federal Government can exploit to break the monopoly that the Discos held. I believe that this is why the FG is now able to unbundle the DISCOs without being liable. |
