These oil giants know that Nigeria's politics is most fragile. They see a Nigeria where a section adopted unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system; but clutches tight to one Nigeria because of $lucre in the other sections of Nigeria, yet the sharia section uses government institutions and instruments to drive Jihad on the territories of the other sections of Nigeria. The non religious sections resist the prospects for an Islamic Republic of Nigeria by asking for their separate countries from Nigeria.

Nigerians should develop their own country. Most of these investors are looking for mumu environment like they used to do before Petroleum Industry Act was enacted. They messed up Niger Delta and refused to pay compensation despite Court judgement.

I don't care if all foreign owned oil and gas companies leave Nigeria, they're of no good to me because they're not here because they so much love Nigeria or Africa.

You can't blame them
Not after what they did to binance executives
Nobody would trust investing in such a country...
The youths are the leaders of tomorrow is a big lie in this country. Until we change it to the youths are the leaders of now for a better life, we will be as though we are playing

You are u just being biased!
Naira was delisted from binance platform since march, why is the currency still falling??
Aren't we supposed to see N500 to a dollar by now?? You don't know how a nation handles issues of international status is very important to foreign investors? Not after what they did to binance executives, a lot of foreign investors are really going to be having doubt & trust issues investing their funds in a place that can abuse their right at will. Believe me

So because they delisted the Naira from their platform in march, you expect the Naira to bounce back immediately ?

FYI..... It is very easy to destroy but it takes time to build or restore

Binance was just one head of the Dragon that was responsible for the Naira depreciation.

When the other heads are cut off, the Naira would first become stable and appreciate.

Foreign investors are well aware that you must follow the laws of the land that you intend to invest in.

Because a White, Asian or Arab man brings money to invest in Nigeria does not mean that they can do whatever they like in the country.

It also does not mean that we must turn a blind eye when they are doing something wrong.

If you ask me, the way this total manager spoke when in a session with aliko the other time shows that he is not comfortable with the terms Nigeria laud for them. It's not only about inconsistent policies. Corporate social responsibility is strong in Nigeria especially in Niger Delta. Can't you see him say during the interview that a country really needs to outline it's aims in relation to environmental risks which are bound to happen because in oil operation, you can't escape it. What were the inconsistent policies? I am not denying Nigeria is totally healthy for business. But I feel Nigerian government is gradually coming to terms with the need to maximize benefit for the country in all these business deals especially when it comes to resource extraction. You can see that also in the new mining act which says all raw materials will be processed in Nigeria.

SlavaUkraini:

What was done to Binance executives ?

Their Platform was been used to manipulate the national currency and you expect the government to keep quiet ?

Nations around the world are banning Binance from operating there and you want Nigeria to become their IDP Camp ?

That would not happen

If Total energy invest 10 Billion dollars in Nigeria and we later discover that they are into crude oil theft or other illegal activities, then their executives must face the laws of the land.
Oga, so Nigeria is the most important currency in the world that they chose to manipulate right?....and since they stopped manipulating how has naira been?

Seems we don't like truth in this country.
Re: Total Snubs Nigeria; Invests $600m In Congo by Valuehaven: 4:26pm On May 25
That's the right thing to do since the government of Nigeria does not want to create a safe environment for investors and their investments, they will sure take it elsewhere.

The thing is that there should a level balance, we gain they gain...its a business meant to make profit, if it doesn't favour them, they would ignore it and go elsewhere... remember nor be only you get resources.

I just dey laugh those idiotic ronu imbeciles . Tinubu govt will come and go . But the damage to economy, the precedence set by lagos state government, the fear of investing in nigeria will forever haunt this country. You see, at some point the paltry fee the tinubu government gives to them to defend his atrocious policies, will one day stop coming. Then like the rest of Nigerians, they will be left with the ruins, a battered country. They will find out, they actually don't have a country

That’s good for the Congo, Nigeria has already squandered too many wonderful opportunities for development. So let the buck pass on to other African countries and let’s see how well they utilise such investment opportunities.

Can you see what Mexicans are doing to America? Poor Mexicans are trooping to America to work legitimately, to commit crime, to steal, to kill, and to destroy because there is nothing in their own country
