The thing is that there should a level balance, we gain they gain...its a business meant to make profit, if it doesn't favour them, they would ignore it and go elsewhere... remember nor be only you get resources.
sure. Total have been gaining in Nigeria for more than fifty years. I understand the six billion dollars would have contributed to our economy. But let's continue to retool our government gradually. I personally feel that what the president need to do most are;
1. Stamp out insecurity asap so that farmers all over Nigeria can return to the farm. Unfortunately, politics and religious inclination are posing serious threat to that.
2. Introduce a system of metering oil produced daily, aggressively look for strategies to end oil theft and increase our production to 2m BPD.
3. Remove the fuel subsidy entirely and match that up with constant public updating amount generated and how they were spent.

Then, with the dangote refinery coming on stream by late June, we should be preparing to have good Xmas celebration this year despite the challenges.

We were taught that government instability is one of the reasons for the backwardness of Africa especially Nigeria

And for years, our government have refused to do something about that, too much chaotic policies

A government might like you and allow you make money and another one comes in and doesn't like your face and your investments are gone

No insurance, no compensation whatsoever

And you think investors will flock such country

He sure me say if another president comes in after this man, he would repel most of his policies

We see what's going on in kano

Only a deranged fellow will invest largely into an unstable environment

You remind me of the fable of the Fox and the grape, where the former, rather than admit its failure of being unable to reach the grapes, rationalizes that they are sour and of no good.

What was done to Binance executives ?

Their Platform was been used to manipulate the national currency and you expect the government to keep quiet ?

Nations around the world are banning Binance from operating there and you want Nigeria to become their IDP Camp ?

That would not happen

If Total energy invest 10 Billion dollars in Nigeria and we later discover that they are into crude oil theft or other illegal activities, then their executives must face the laws of the land.

When you are ready to stop deceiving yourself please let us know. Bundling and arresting Binance executives sent a wrong signal to the investment community about Nigeria.

Total Energy ran from Nigeria because they could not exploit Nigeria as they would in other African Countries.

Nigeria policies and rule are tightening up on those loopholes that allows foreign companies to exploit our resources.

The has changed for good.

This is good news

For those who have no idea on what's going on, very very soon a new insurgency would spring up in and around Congo courtesy Total Energy.... Franch Country and companies make more profits during chaos and disorderliness.

In what way are they tightening pikicies, when illegal oil theft is making our products available in black market.

Nigerians should develop their own country. Most of these investors are looking for mumu environment like they used to do before Petroleum Industry Act was enacted. They messed up Niger Delta and refused to pay compensation despite Court judgement.

These people are the main reasons the naira lost its value. But they'd never tell us the truth, so useless and super corrupt leaders. Almost all the multinationals and investors have left Nigeria with their dollars and invested it in other African nations. I once said this here.

Who would invest in a corrupt and unsafe environment where expatriates and top security men are being kidnapped and killed like cow? Tell me

Tinubu has rubbished Nigeria's chances of attracting foreign investments in Nigeria and development of the country but Agbadorians think it's well with Nigeria with a drüglord and certificate forger in power. Shame.

The best for Nigerians is to remove the baggage from power to restore investors confidence in Nigeria.

Please enlighten them. Total should leave us to develop our oil resources at our pace and in a manner where Nigerians and the Niger Delta would be the major beneficiary. Congolese government is barely getting 15% of the income from this venture. If this was the kind of exploitative deals the middle east agreed to, they won't be where they are today.

using Binance as example I don't think its ok.Because countries like US and Canada heavily fine Binance.Us alone fine them in excess of 4billion dollars and am sure total and others are still heavily investing in US
