Goal.com reports that Arsenal have matched Barcelona's €40m valuation of Alexis Sanchez. I have two questions: Is he worth the money? Is he better than Mandzukic?

...and would you rather have Mathieu Debuchy over Serge Aurier?

Goal.com is reporting that Wenger is chasing Fabien Barthez as a substitute keeper. Nice one!

Berlusconi claims a €35m (£27.7m) deal to "a top English club", believed to be Arsenal, has stalled because the 23-year-old was lacklustre in Brazil.

"Other than Italy, I’m the one who lost at the World Cup," Gazzetta Dello Sport report Berlusconi said at a political meeting.

"I was selling Balotelli to an English team for several millions, but, after this World Cup, who will buy him now?

"I was going to sell it to a top English club for €35 million, now the deal has stalled."

From indications, I think we can confidently assume that Debuchy to Arsenal is 100% done.

That's back up for Sagna wrapped up.

Now Sanchez (not 100% done and can still blow up in our faces but looks advanced), back up goalkeeper (Cassilas?), Campbell and maybe back up DM (Arteta and Flams are aging).

If TV5 leaves, then maybe another CB

How can Debuchy be backup to Sagna when he's not an Arsenal Player anymore!
Are you tracking Arsenal's ins and out at all
Btw, the Sanchez deal seems dependent on Barcelona acquiring Suarez. Also, I don't think Monsieur Wenger will be buying a DM; Diaby (LANS) does come to mind cheesy

Sorry. Too much excitement. I meant replacement.
I'm sure even AW with all his optimism will not bank on Abou being fit all through the season. Plus I believe Abou will play in Ramsey's role rather than Arteta/Flam's role.

Alexis Sanchez has said his goodbyes to Barca staff. Off to Arsenal? Juve also in the run in BTW

Let's not kid ourselves Proudly, I can't see Wenger throwing cash out there for a DM! One of Arteta or Flamini will have to make way for that.

And Bros, are you making that Alexis' farewell story up? I'm yet to see a credible report on Sanchez saying goodbye!
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by proudlysports: 5:38am On Jul 06, 2014
I don't see AW throwing money on a DM too but considering Arteta's age and that of Flams plus the amount of years left on their contracts, AW may just surprise us. At the mo, there's no quality DM in our youth team that I can point to. We will most likely have to acquire a replacement either this season or next.

As for Alexis, he bade his barca mates goodbye. I can't categorically say he's coming to Arsenal (I made wrong conclusions in the past and don't want to make similar mistakes) but he's definitely leaving Barca. However sources say it's 98% Arsenal. Fingers crossed. We should know by 10th when we officially launch our PUMA jerseys
