Coquelin was immense today, had to cover entirely for Cazorla today and was amazing. Ridiculous to suggest he isn't good enough. Whereas a Dunce on this thread said he is not the best DM in Epl at the moment.

See that acrobatic goal from Sergio Ramos.

I got pissed off at Arsenal's dreadful first half display, and refused to watch the second half.

Santi is a classy player but is currently out of form, what pains me most is that he has lost his goal scoring prowess.

All of a sudden Santi is horrible?Dude was reportedly sickly before the game.

That said,Coq's ability in tight space has immensely improved.

Lol.I don't even know how to respond to this.I will say this though,Santi/Coq partnership is the bedrock of everything we have "achieved" since last season.

So Santi suffers a bad first half alongside the Whole team and substituted for a rumored injury he sustained prior to the game and mofos as usual are dishing some "Akara analysis" about a player who has by far provided the best balance, mobility and secondary assist numbers from our midfield since he moved into the deeper role..

Do you know how often Carzola covers Coq by retaining possession and kickstarting offense with his passing ability? Why do we pass judgements on one game and not the history of a player and that includes this season? This same Cazola has started for Spain ahead of his fancier peers in recent euro qualifiers and even scored goals..

Same guys easily scape goat Ozil each time we lose games because his demeanor betrays his ability and passion for the game and I bet they were ready to bury him today if we did not equalize, same guys preached that we shunt Ozil to the wings and play Ramsey in the middle or the deeper role in place of Santi and I dare Wenger to pursue that and let's see if we don't concede an average of 2.5 goals in the EPL.

Can we stop with these "cheap emotional statements" that are embarrassingly irresponsible and questions knowledge of the game?

Cazola was not the issue tonight, calling him out would be tantamount to scapegoating aka "akara analysis" the whole team was terrible in the first half, they seemed log footed maybe the mid week travel to Germany and consequent training for today's game is to blame but whatever the reason was I am very glad we got a result from the game.

Ramsey hasn't been given a chance, how do you expect him to find a rhythm being out of position most games.? Put him back to CM for 5 games and see what happens. I don't rate Cazorla in CM. With Cazorla we are not solid defensively down the middle, thank God we have Coquelin, we don't have much driving force going forward against any team that is half well organised and physical.

Athleticism is a big part of being a CM, height comes into that you don't have to be a giant, but you need to be able to compete physically. Something santi cannot do. Dominated by shelvey, Thiago, dele alli, cabaye, even Herrera last season.

We don't need a CM dictating play like some have suggested. We have arguably the best play maker in the world in Ozil, let him dictate the play, give him the ball.

I miss Ramsey driving forward from central midfield, it created so many goal scoring opportunities.

How many of you can list the number of matches santi has dominated this season for full 90 mins? He only does for 15mins against lesser sides like Man United.

And FYI I don't hate Santi, I just don't think he's the right man for that position. Ramsey or Jack Wilshere for me, just hope the injuries would stop.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Nobody: 9:13am On Nov 09, 2015
I don't think Santi is the scape goat for that match, the attack really put us under pressure. This was caused by SANCHEZ and CAMPBELL losing the ball anytime they get to touch it.
Immediately OZIL was moved to the right and GIBBS came in to move SANCHEZ out of the Left our attack changed cos SANCHEZ received less of the balls cos we play well from the flanks, afterwards GIBBS scored GIROUD started getting more services from both flanks something SANCHEZ and CAMPBELL couldn't do for over 60mins of play.

What I've come to notice is, SANCHEZ hardly gets criticised and his contributions to the team are always over praised. Yet I c pple criticising OZIL, SANTI, WALCOT and GIROUD.
For Ur info OZIL and GIROUD have done more for this team than SANCHEZ.

He tends to lose himself going forward

Every team has an ideology, I mean systemic ideology under any manager and the formation of the team and style of play buttresses the ideology of any manager, Wenger's ideology on the field of play is renowned as "beautiful" laced in possession, intricate passing, building attacks from the back into the final third and seeking that perfect opportunity to strike with efficiency, Wenger is not a defensive oriented coach in modern times thus your rants about defense in the middle of the park is questionable.

The sudden rave about Ramsey in the deeper CM position is quite despicable considering we have witnessed Ramsey at the CM position previously? Not one, not even five times and the results are evident, do you think Wenger is stupid or has dementia? kid has no business playing from the deep and the coaches know that.

Is Ramsey as disciplined as Santi in that position?
Does Ramsey posses a better passing ability than Santi in that position?
Who has a better ball retention ability between both during possession?
Who provides calmness between both in that position?
Who has the ability on the ball to generate offense from deep between both?

According to you we need only one player that dictates the play and that is where I question your knowledge of Arsenal and in particular Wenger's ideology as a manager with Arsenal considering he is the longest serving manager in the league, Wenger needs every player to be styled offensively and that includes his defense thus Ozil alone can't be his source of offense, every part of the pitch is meant to inspire offense in his style that is why Gibbs can play in front of Monreal and score a goal, that is why Song previously with Arsenal metamorphosed into a CM during his final moments with Arsenal forgoing his primary defensive role.

Athleticism is a big part of being a CM, height comes into that you don't have to be a giant, but you need to be able to compete physically. Something santi cannot do. Dominated by shelvey, Thiago, dele alli, cabaye, even Herrera last season.

Did we not watch Ramsey in the same position where he was bullied severally and found out of position and resorted to tackles that even endangered his health on the pitch?

I dare you to name one player except for Cech who was not dominated in the first half of the game against Tottenham? I dare you please..

I am not arguing Santi is built for that position..noo.. Please don't construe me, it's a similar situation with Arteta when we played him deeper for the longest spell and scapegoats the poor guy each time we lost like he was built or trained to be a defensive midfielder but he provided the best option and that is what Santi does better than Ramsey who you are clamouring for.

I miss Ramsey driving forward from central midfield, it created so many goal scoring opportunities.

And we conceded and lost how many of those games? and he missed how many chances? Do you know how many scoring opportunities this same Ramsey has missed,I hope you are not by any chance insinuating we are not creating chances in the final third because that would be utterly ridiculous? Or the problem is we are not efficient in front of goal?

The temptation to write more is overwhelming as you are sounding very ungrateful and seem too obsessed with one player and his peculiar skill and not the balance and value of the entire team and even discarding the obvious pitfalls of the same player..
