Step 1: Save One Hour
Very successful businesses always shut their doors to the public at least one hour before they actually close. This permits staff to balance their accounts and supervisors and managers to do some checking before people go home. Step 7: Price it right
If you own a shop, two things will stand you out - Quality and Price. ICT&I helps you to determine selling prices for your items based on markets surveys. Shopmaxi will automatically suggest selling prices for most products once you enter the cost price, but you can override that.
Generally, you should do between 5-10% on fast moving goods and common provisions, and about 50-150% on electronics, clothes, jewelry, special toys, designers perfumes, exotic wines and other non-essential goods. Step 8: Hire Attractive People
Hiring polite and attractive staff will definitely boost your sales. You can provide a dress code or branded uniform as well as training on products so that staff can give wonderful advice to customers who need help. Create a product testing desk where small samples of a product like lipsticks can be tested. Most manufacturers now provide free mini- sized samples for this purpose. Encourage staff to smile sweetly and go the extra mile to satisfy customers. If a child accompanies a customer, permit staff the authority to offer a cheap wafer, toffee or some other palliative. Seize the opportunity to create a relationship and subtly collect data on parent and child, such as names and phone numbers. This can go into the Shopmaxi CRM, so that SMS can be sent to the customer on the child's birthday.

Step 9: Take it back
Have a favourable, friendly policy. If it's a supermarket, the products must not have a broken seal and must come back with a receipt within the hour or two. Permit exchange but limit refunds. Be very apologetic if the product is actually bad and replace it with a different brand altogether. If it's an electronics shop, try and rectify the fault or provide brief training. If it's fashion, once you've checked that there is no wear or sign of usage, let the customer exchange it for a new size, color or design. Set up some kind of procedure which requires a phone call to you, or confirmation by a supervisor. Always ask to speak to the customers directly, and always show that you care about how they feel. Remember that customers that you accept return goods from always return back. Step 10: Advertise

We received a lot of questions on the possibility of the owner accessing the shop computer from home or from a wireless device like ipad. Yes, it is very possible,

1) The traditional method is to use a wireless link, but this is usually very expensive, So unless your house is not too far from your shop, the cost will be prohibitive

2) The 2nd option is to use the services of a telecomms provider to get a dedicated link between the shop and your home, Again this can be quite prohibitive, but unless you are a bank

3) The third method is to tunnel through the internet in what we call a VPN, this isnt too cheap and very ineffective

BUT,

4) The cheapest method is to use Shopmaxi Aero, You can even print documents in your office on the printer at home, Call us and we will tell you all about it,

This is really innovative, But what if i have items that have no barcode? How do i manage them?

Not a problem at all. You have three alternatives

1) You can buy a label printer and generate your own barcodes and stick them on.

2) You use the Shopmaxi display which lists all products by pattern and is very finger friendly and easy to locate products without barcodes. We have some older shops that are NOT even using barcode scanners at all and they are coping quite well

3) We can print you a customised barcode page if the products are not too many without barcodes and you can laminate and keep that near your system and scan it whenever a product without barcode shows up.

Nice innovation.bt i think peachtree handles businesses wit complex transactions beta than some of these programs except 4d pos issues.all depends on a good knowledge of it.stil ur product is great.

During this Xmas, it is a good idea to decorate your shop, and to send out SMS to your customers. This is also a great time to use the Bonanza buttons on ShopMaxi,

A) To send SMS from ShopMaxi, (if you have the CRM Module)
1) Click on CRM on the menu
2) Check your sms balance (pay to update it online with your ATM card)
3) Type in your message
4) Click on either SMS Client to send sms to the selected customer

OR
5) Click on SMS All to send SMS to all your customers

B) To use ShopMaxi Bonanza Buttons
1) Click on the item in the shopping basket, and the following three buttons appear
a) BxGetyFree - This means Buy x items and Get Y Free (e.g Buy 2 get 1 free)
b) BxGetYOff - This means Buy X items get y% off (Use this for Buy 1, get 20% off the third item)
c) x%off - This means get x% off this item (Use this for 10% discount on an item)
2) Confirm the message and the calculation is done for you
3) Print the invoice
4) Shopmaxi gives the report showing which items were sold free and discounted at the end of each day, wek or month
