Because they don't have the right to be in those foreign countries. That should be obvious
Birth right will be the basic right

grin grin grin

poster there are a couple of reasons why Nigerians get deported from foreign countries
1. they over stayed their visa
2. they committed a crime
3. they got legal papers through illegal means and the govt found out
4. the woman or man who filed for them got mad and reported them to the govt with lies
etc

@ READY2GIVE, thanks for your light hearted response, and i apologise for myself and onbehalf of other posters that has made mockery of your post, the fact is it was funny but nonetheless i will try and give my opinion.

Deportation of Nigerians cannot be prevented but it can be reduced, only if the goverments would make Nigeria liveable for the inhabitant, create jobs, make available opportunities for the youths, stable power supply, regular pipe borne water, fight against corruption and looting of public funds, fight against boko haram, good and trust worthy policing, good roads.

You know if this things were readily available in Nigeria it will attract investors and there-by making the country investable. so when Nigerians secure a visa to go to any country they would not be desperate to stay in those countries and those reasons listed above by 25omega would sure be reduced.

I hope you can have a bit of an idea

I disagree with you, deportation can be prevented if Nigerians respect home country immigration rules, Nigerians with resident permit commit crime , a criminal is a criminal, there are criminals in the UK ,US and other developed countries even with their govt providing some if not all the things you listed above.

Some Nigerian deportees are rapist, that got nothing to do with economy.
Re: Deportation Of Nigerian In Foreign Country by dalebutt1: 6:26pm On Dec 13, 2011
JW, you are talking from the perspective of the minority, majority of Nigerians in westerm countries are convicted of mostly immigration crimes, millions of Nigerians have overstayed their visas from world go, is that not a crime in itself? and why would majority want to overstay their visa if Nigeria was deemed liveable for them?

why would Nigerians do all sort of criminal activity to get documented? why wont they come go back to Nigeria if indeed home is good. Circumstances would sometimes push a good person to commit crimes, and thats why in the UK and most EU countries they have sentencing reports prior to verdict to know what has pushed the individual into the crime and to determine what sort of sentence they will get.

you need to also understand every Nigerian travelling abroad cannot simply possess good attitude thats why we are all human beings, this year a report showed the number of eu citizens in the UK Prisons, Irish citizens in UK prison was totalling morethan 2000, same as dutch, french, germans. if western europeans can commit non-immigration related crimes in thier drove aw much more people from impoverished nigeria

surprisingly, the eastern europeans top the list having more criminals than the western europeans in UK Prisons with poland, though being central europe topping the list with over 6 thousand criminals in UK prison, followed by romanians and lithuanians. Dutch citizens just around 500 plus.

of course just a fraction of these eastern europeans were expelled due to their membership in the EU, now my stand is this, you see the better the economy the less the crime, economic situation of Nigeria is a big factor contributing to her citizens crime in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.

If you go to german prison as well you'd see british prisoners.

Don't you think its necessary for any would-be traveler to have the knowledge about the laws and guidelines that can help him in that country

Most Nigerians dont bother getting adequate and genuine information about their would be host countries, they just want to travel out and believe they can always sort themselves out once they get there. If they have the necessary info some of them will not have even travel in the first place.

Guess the people in government came from the MOON. Few years ago GEJ was part of ASUU going on strike.

It's easy to assume that it is poverty that make people to take to crime. Most times it is due to greed and wrong values and we have that in large number in Nigeria!
