Hey everyone, I need some constructive advice.

Which of the following courses offers better career prospects both in Nigeria and internationally?

Please share your reasons for recommending one over the others:

Business Administration

Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management

Marketing

Public Administration

@mod, if this thread can be moved to the main page for better visibility, I'd appreciate it!
Business administration encompasses all

Others are narrow courses that are subsets of Business Administration

You are not informed at all. Go to UCH and other private dental clinics then you will understand. Knowledge is power, seek for it and you will be wise.

Typical Nigerian will try everything (to cure toothache), before deciding to go to the dentist.
Dentists are considered last resort. 😀

Human Resources (HR) is quite specialized, so I would recommend the OP to consider Business Administration instead, as it offers a broader range of opportunities. With a background in Business Administration, they can keep their options open and be prepared for various opportunities that may arise in the future. This way, they won’t limit their chances when new doors open.
U r so much right too

What do you mean by the bolded pls?
Ideal situation means how it should be. Context means the way it is. So, ideal solution won't work for you. Example is studying petrochemical engineering to work in the oil sector but in reality you can't get a job there with your petrochemical degree in Nigeria. Ideally, there's nothing wrong with studying any of the courses, but in the context of Nigeria, everything is wrong with them.

You better go and learn how to become a Solution Provider than wasting your God Given Resources on those uselessly useless school courses you presented as options.

If somebody tells you they studied Geography and Planning in the University, what is the first profession that comes to your mind for them.

Don't lie.

I'm checking something.
Very good course. Urban and regional planning, Quantity surveyor, Geography and regional planning. Those are sweet soft spot

Which school did they do their MBAs at?

Let's be detailed when narrating incidents.

Business Administration then do your ICAN before graduation. Be well-grounded in mathematics. This is important during job hunting. Industrial and HRM is good, but ensure you are on track to do CIPM before graduation. Marketing and Public Admin aren't so good unless you are dead-sure of making a high CGPA, and again, be well grounded in your mathematics. That is the koko if you want a good job.

I will strongly advise you to go and study Cyber Security Project Management, Data Management, Information Systems Analysis, Project Planning or Nursing.
If you need more clarity, please contact me.
I'm not asking you not to study the courses you listed, I'm only advising you to be wise.
Those courses need someone who is well grounded in foundational and advanced mathematics. It is not everyone that is like that. As for nursing, it only pays well abroad, especially in the US. Nurses are poorly paid in Nigeria.

I would suggest Marketing , with specialization on modern digital marketing you can establish your marketing company
Re: Which Course Has A Better Prospect? by Love800(m): 5:56am On Feb 04, 2025
Wow. This is so brilliant.

But "Artificial intelligent" is not that bad sha. Just that the guy did not input any of his own thinking or brain into it, so that it will come in terms of the present situation.

I use it alot. But i reason along with it, so i can see where I should add my own reality to it.

Fair deal then. An MBA is a pricey degree. Anyone who spends on such without assessing the ROI, anything the person sees, let him/her take it like that.

P.S. Your signature is a startling figure. We no try.

Some opted for their MBA as an immigration route not actually for the studies itself and got folks back in Nigeria to do their assignments, graduated and paid an extra £9 000 to get a 5 years care job COS.....the MBA becoming a distant memory.

Really sad, having that huge number of kids out of the school system and a threat to national security.
