Have You Prayed For Your Enemies?

Jesus taught us to love and pray for our enemies.

Matthew 5:44-45 (KJV)

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Therefore have you prayed for your enemies as Jesus commanded us to do?

If you haven't it's suggests you're not a true follower of Jesus because true followers of Jesus keep His teachings.

Sadly most so-called Christians are not willing to obey this particular teaching of Jesus.

They don't even want to hear such teachings of Jesus because it doesn't align with what appeals to their flesh.

They'd rather hear those of their men-pleasing church leaders, who preach what they want to hear and encourage them to be vengeful against their enemies praying for them to "die, die die by fire" even though such go against the teachings of Christ.

That's how one came to a related thread of mine and objected that teaching despite knowing fully well it emanated from Jesus Himself.

She was adamant because according to her, she has to attack them so they will not be able to attack her.

Unknown to her though was that the best way to be secure and protected by God from her enemies and the wicked is through the obedience of His Word, because it's the disobedience of God's Word, aka sin, that exposes us to the attacks of the enemy.

That's why the enemy is still tormenting many Christians today despite all their prayer for their enemies to die, because they can't reject the teachings of Jesus and still expect to enjoy the security and protection that comes with the obedience of His Word.

Many wonder how i keep thriving here despite being surrounded by so many enemies and haters, including so-called Christians, who want me to bring me down at all costs.

It's because I obey the teachings of Jesus, including that, to pray for my enemies.

Some of my enemies and haters here would even be shocked to find out that their monikers have been mentioned severally during my prayer time, however it's not for them to die, die, die by fire or be destroyed, but for God to keep them and their families safe and in good health, provide their needs, have mercy on them, bring them to repentance and save their souls etc.

That's how shocked a former NL atheist became after I was praying with her on the phone. She asked why I was praying so much for mercy and forgiveness for my enemies and haters, because she wasn't used to that kind of prayer and would have preferred I prayed for vengeance and for them to die as it is with many so-called Christians, but I told her it's the way Jesus commanded us to pray.

It's become such a part and parcel of my prayers that i didn't even expect it to offend her, but I couldn't care less even though she was a new convert of my ministry here, because i would rather do what Jesus commanded me to do than what would be pleasing to men.

That's what distinguishes from most present-day Christians, including church leaders, and could explain why God keeps preparing tables for me in the presence of my Nairaland enemies to their own confounding, despite how much they've tried to bring me down using any possible means, God keeps lifting me higher and higher.

It's Jesus I know, and Jesus knows me and is with me because I keep His commandments as such.

Very painful, but it's what we are called to do!

Jesus did not tell Christians to pray for the enemies to have more strength to fight the LIGHT. So be mindful of what you pray for while praying for the so - called enemy.

African traditional religion practitioners go to their shrine to perform rituals for their enemies to die.

But somehow Africans believe Christianity is good and African traditional religion is bad.

Nigerian Christians pray for their enemies? An absolute impossibility.

They Curse and railed against All Enemies (Real and imaginary)

They Curse, bind, rebuke even armless Birds that crosses path with them. Lol

They wish Death on anything and everything.

Their is one Church on my Street here, from 7am till 1pm every Sunday, the Preachers take turn to Curse and wish death on their perceived Enemies.

What it means to pray for your enemies? It does not always mean pamper your enemies with love even when they are wicked, but it means.

(1) Destroy the evil powers your enemies are using against you and others.

(2) Pray for them to be frustrated in their evil and repent.

(3) Pray for them not to kill you or your loved ones e.t.c before repenting.

(4) Pray for them to prosper only in the good things they are doing.

(5) Pray for their wickedness to end.

Praying for them now to come and kill later is like feeding and fattening a Broiler Fowl to kill and devour it's flesh and crush the bones later.

Have not read any comment from Muslim Brotherhood here insulting prophets.
But many Christians come to Islamic section with insut on prophets.

Praying for my enemies needs special grace, the kind of grace I do not possess, neither am I actively seeking to possess it. Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end and let God wound the hairy scalp of the wicked
