A group, Coalition of Niger Delta Youths, yesterday, threatened to shut down oil facilities belonging to various multi-national oil companies in the region if government fails to revert to N65 per litre in line with the yearnings of the majority of the Nigerian masses. http://www.momentng.com/en/news/5931/strike-niger-delta-youths-vow-to-shutdown-oil-facilities.html |

This is the key to a successful protest. Once oil production is shut down, the petrol price in American will rise right away and it will definitely get the attention of American citizens/leaders. CNN will immediately get involved 24/7; Jonathan will then have no other choice but to come out of his hidden spot and address this issue like a leader. Shut the daamn oil production in the country down, now! |

Well GEJ has shoutout the masses with his stubborn stanceAbeg, president Dafty Jonathan is too weak too incompetent to be stubborn or to have a stance. This president has no clue. I was told that his illiterate wife is even smarter that this clueless president. Obasanjo should be stoned to death. He brought all this mess to Nigeria/Nigerians. |
Re: Niger Delta Youths Threaten Shutdown Oil by Depilot(m): 4:01pm On Jan 11, 2012 |
Nigerians, do not f0ol yourselves. Without heavy American intervention nothing sensible will be done. Shut down the oil production in Nigeria for a week and see how miracle happens. |

Re: Niger Delta Youths Threaten Shutdown Oil by DanKan0: 4:09pm On Jan 11, 2012 |
@depilot All GEJ says is cabal cabal. But he is so scared of the cabal it appears. Or he don't want to step on some big PDP toes. Knowing this cabal financed the guys rigged election. He will soon be number 1 enemy in Naija smh. @Ekt-Bear I'm certain IMF ordered him to remove the subsidy. If he can't do the job resign. Imagine N18k minimum wage is not even implemnted yet fuel at N140. Hahaha |

Re: Niger Delta Youths Threaten Shutdown Oil by Isabel360: 4:13pm On Jan 11, 2012 |
During this strike, we found out that there is no voice for the youths and most of all the youths need a voice. ASUU had been on strike 4 months before this national stike, now it looks like this srike would go on longer than we anticipated. Besides the ASUU strike has been suspended for only the duration of the national strike. Only God knows if the ASUU strike would continue after that. Strikes are crippling the educational system in Nigeria. The youths need to speak up. Not for NLC or the government but for themselves cos its our lives its affecting. LIKE THIS PAGE AND HAVE A VOICE. Facebook is only the beginning cos we need to protest against strikes. Invite 2 more youths u know. YOUTHS FOR EDUCATION on Facebook. |

The final blow on the President will be in Bayelsa. I don't know why he is being stubborn. The next phase will be a call for his resignation. If I were him, this whole drama will not pass weekend. After this weekend, people will no longer talk about subsidy but his resignation. A lot of innocent people have been killed and locked up. But why has the Niger Delta not received a single development under this administration? This will serve as a lesson to all those Igbos that believe that there is an advantage in President coming from your ethnic group. Abacha did the most infrastructuraly for Rivers State inspite of being Kanuri from Borno. He made it possible to travel by road to some formally riverine communities like Buguma,Okrika and Degema. His planned Bonny link bridges through Bodo and Andoni is in a halt now. |

Aint it funny that the labour chairman, Umar is one of the cabals. Yes! He is, cos he's an oil dealer too. Culd this be his reason for sticking to his guns in reversing the subsidy, cos he's gaining from it? THINK. |

From an Oil Worker: why making people go poor the more and in want in the name of protest and occupy when the Govt Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊ intend †̥ fight are making more money since the protest began? So many people are suffering now cos no business activity going on, petty traders can't sell †̥ feed yet govt oil production is going on steady. I work with an oil firm and we are @ work producing the oil for govt @ full scale. I sincerely believe that if Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊ guys are serious, come and shutdown our operations and let the poor people in the streets come out and make their little coins. If Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊ shutdown crude oil production, within 2hrs govt will go on their kneels.pls pass it on until necessary action is taken. PLS FORWARD TILL IT GET TO NLC AND TUC LEADERS |
