IBB has no right to open his mouth and advice Jonah regarding the state of the economy, he single-handedly DESTROYED the country, he should just kill himself in a pit, BASTARD |

rasputinn: The bottom line is people can huff and puff as much as they want, unless the Malfunctioning State is restructured, and the Naira is either totally scrapped of revalued (increased in value), then the endemic poverty, corruption, wastage will continue. So we have choices, to go for change, to put up or shut up. BTW, influential people in Nigeria do not use or exchange Naira, they use USD, EURO, GBP |

Most nigerian leaders die in regrets and failure mentality. cos immediately they live power, they realize how wholly they have failed, Ibb feels like a failure every day in his life despite his wealth. that's why he keeps trying to come back to the nigerian power and decision making scenes life is not like that you cant eat your cake and have it. he left power as nigerian most intelligent criminal leader. God gave him 9 yrs to transform nigeria rather than use it to set this country on the path of prosperity he used it to destroy the nigeria economy. WE DONT NEED HIS ADVICE NOW. |

IBB seems to be the most experienced and intelligent retired general , that he is corrupt simply means he amassed wealth above his income that deos not make him unintelligent, GEJ has every reason to learn 1 or 2 things from IBB. Restructturing could mean a whole lot like giving the SW the right to mine their Bitumen and Gold and the MB full powers to tap maximally their Agricultural potentials, the NE and NW can practice 100% of Sharia without killing anybody, the SS should have 50 % derivation and the SE will be able to Tap coal, Natural gas and crude oil in their land for maximal benefits. The Zones should be free to refine oil in their zones and app;ly subsidy as it pleases them, the oilf frims should further move thier headquaters to the Niger Delta Area for maximum benefits to oil producing areas like American companies did in the middles east. Anybody who does not like this is free to seccede to be part of Nigeria should not be by force. |

Why is IBB giving advise that he himself did not heed when he was in power? He had 8 years to do it and he BLEW it. He could even have achieved more but he chose to cancel our freeest and fairest elections ever. On what moral ground does he now give the advice which he rejected? IBB should shut up and answer Maryam's calls in silence. |

Leadership role is not for everybody; as far as I'm concerned Jonathan has no business in Aso Rock or anywhere close to Abuja. I'm still very much confident to say IBB should have been the president of this great nation, especially at this very fragile moment. IBB regime would have restored many things in Nigeria by now. Just read his message to Jonathan; without any questions, Jonathan on his own or any of the praise singers around him wouldn't have wisdom or knewledge to come up with this simple concept in a million years. No disrespect. |

Love hime or Loathe him, these were the very issues IBB campaigned for while running for PDP primaries in 2010, you can not accuse him of being an opportunist on this issue. He clearly called for them as a campaign manifesto and anyone who has followed IBB's politics will agree that he clearly believes in these policies. At the time I questioned why no one else in the country was listening to IBB, debating his propositions or supporting it? He clearly called for Leaner/streamlined Government, a Fedral Government focused on Foreign policy, National security and Macro-Economics while other domestic issues like policing and all what not are devolved to State Government. In short he called for true fedralism. At the time while I raised the importance of these policies some branded me an IBB supporter. I still maintain that IBB's greatest sin to this country was instituting a transition programme but lacking the courage to handover to a democratically elected Government. But the fact remains that he at least had the vision to talk about the need to return Nigeria to democratic rule. Buhari as head of State had no such plan. The talk about IBB being corrupt has not been proven by anybody and I don't usually take such accusations seriously because there is no ex-President of Nigeria since independence that you can say their Government did not engage in waste or corruption! IBB is clearly more intelligent than he is given credit for. BTW advising Jonathan at this time to redefine Governance is the behaviour of a Statesman. He is not going about abusing Nigerians to face the consequences of voting Jonathan like some are doing. IBB definitely has a lage heart! He is definitely not perfect but I will vote for IBB 10 times before thinking about Buhari. IBB is very grown up! |

@Mikeansy: I would have appreciated this unique and sensible comment of yours a couple of years ago. Now that the pot has cracked open, such a shrewd and powerful statement is pretty much feckless. Nigerians are now stuck with this Basket (with extra holes) for the next 3.5 years. The question is, how do we fetch water with a basket? What a shame! |

For IBB, its better late than never. I commend his bravery. However, as a military president years ago, he had the opportunity to restructure the country. He could have set up a solid democratic structure. Egocentric motives and lack of foresight made him to fail. He had allocated oil blocks and public funds to his kindreds and friends. He made nigerians to be lazy to the extend that we can't feed our ourselves. How will the federating units sustain themselves? Is it through revenue from nomadic cattle rearing, toll gates or what? The states are now beggars who are dependent on monthly allocation from oil revenue for their survival. IBB's words are mere rhetorics. I'm sure he has lost touch with is people. Perhaps they will think that he has senile dementia. How time flies. He should make atonement for his mistakes so that history will judge him fairly. |

ALL THESE ARE ON THE TABLE AS WE ARE SPEAKING,BUT THEN THE C AND C MUST MAKE SURE TO USE EVERY NECCESARY MEANS TO DEFEAT ANY SELFISH GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL THAT WILL TRY TO MAKE IT UNACHIEVABLE(SABOTAGE IT) OR BE A STUMBLING STONE TOWARDS THAT.JUST BECAUSE THEY THINK THE ONLY WAY TO LIVE A LIFE IS ONLY BY DROWNING IN OIL.THE MIDDLE BELTS CAN SURVIVE WITH THE BLESSED AND RICH LAND/FERTILED LAND WITH ALSO MINERALS HERE AND EXPORT IT'S CROPS TO OTHER REGIONS OR EVEN OTHER COUNTRIES,THE CORE NORTH IS BLESSED WITH LIVE STOCKS AND GOOD LAND FOR OTHER IMPORTANT CROPS AND MINERALS OVER THERE, WHICH CAN BE TRADED TO OTHER NEIGHBOURING REGIONS AND OTHER COUNTRIES.THE SOUTH WEST IS BLESSED WITH RICH AND FERTILED LAND FOR FARMING THINGS LIKE RICE COA COA AND MINERALS SUCH AS GAS.THE SOUTH EAST IS BLESSED WITH FERTILED LAND TO ALSO FARM RICE ALSO HAS COAL,OIL AND GAS.THE SOUTH SOUTH IS BLESSED WITH RICH LAND,SEA FOR FISHING,OIL AND GAS. SO IT'S A WIN WIN SITUATION FOR EVERYBODY. PEOPLE OF NIGERIA WHATS THE FIGHTING AND KILLING THE INNOCENTS ABOUT? ANYBODY WHO DOES NOT SUPPORT OR WORK REALLY VERY HARD IN HONESTY TO ACHIEVE THESE IS THE PROBLEM AND ANTI PEOPLES PROGRESS. AS FOR BABANGINDA AND HIS RELEVENCE SEEKING WELL WHAT ELSE DOES ANYBODY EXPECT TO HEAR FROM A MAN OF HIS NATURE. |
