Why do these folks not speak in layman lingo?

", the moment the capacity is bridged, it affects the cumulative capacity of 60%".

Do the Reps even understand the explanation being given?

*On the issue of demurrage*

"5 days demurrage is built into subsidy claim
If you have a problem with jetty, it is the head ache of the supplier.
On the other hand, with STS (ship-to-ship), mother cargo comes in, drops and you use a smaller vessel is used. . .
What is built into this is; 10 days maximum. It is pro rated. . .different vessels have different carrying capacities"

First of all i'm happy that nigeria is slowly at it's own snail pace learning democracy, any person who thinks that the act of protest was wrong is a fool, Even if you agree with subsidy removal, as a free world the right to peaceful protest MUST BE indisputable, This is infact directed to an intelligent poster on here named beaf but is unfortunately sometimes too biased

Secondly, I'm confused, The President's cabinet has boldly stated that there is corruption in the subsidy and at overcharging, surely these statements must have been made only based on facts! why are those facts not already included from the start of this?

I'm loving this though

The Exe. Sec is smarter than them, even the Chairman is not upright to his investigation.

total fuel subsidized in march 2011 551million liters                   amount paid as subsidy    60billion naira
total fuel subsidized in april 2011    631 million liters                  amount paid as subsidy   132billion naira

That's a good place to start. The difference is over 100%.

If she had honour, she would resign to allow investigation take place. But, erm, does she have honour?

What is lack of book-keeping responsible for? We are talking of companies and big organizations here and not ordinary Nigerians walking the streets. You just added to their indictment.

A bit of contention now . . .

HOR member posing the questions now is an engineer by trade and finds some figures contentious.

Chairman: "the way we conduct this hearing is totally deregulated. there is no subsidy"

Nice!
HOR member (for orlu, I think) is questioning NNPC exec on the daily rates of consumption presented for 2008, 2010 and 2011 which do not appear reconcilable

30, 809, 120.77 litres as opposed to 33, 526, 633.94 litres
over 3, 000, 000 litres unaccounted for!

2010,
Daily consumption: 43, 107, 667.30 litres
Figures presented today: 46, 905, 969. 54 litres
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PPRA records presented in October shows over 8 billion was consumed.
PPMC submitted today shows 7, 269, 236, 762 litres for annual consumption
Difference: 1.4 billion litres unaccounted for

NNPC exec: "it looks like there was s wrong posting for 2009" grin

And the beat goes on,
