The only way to stop this fraud, mismanagement, smuggling, falsifying documents, accusations and counter accusations in d downstream sector of this endemic corruption is to completely remove d oil subsidy. That is what Pres. Gej is trying to do and some useless nigerians are insulting.

From day one there were no marketers cabal, the ND pple av been a real problem with their "Our resource mentality", these pple clearly looted the country and av shifted the blame to some pple they av no love.
Where did Gej get those $6,000+ (N1M+) bundles he was sharing freely in Delta state and most state in the country? Who paid for that? With the kind of money they spend even if he looted Bayelsa dry in his reign, there is no way he culd av gotten such money to waste.
Gej is the real cabal, Madueke and the marketers probably tried to be smart by using the hole created by the real cabal to enrich themselves

There is nothing new or surprising about the revelation  that Kaduna refinery runs on imported oil - that was how it was designed.

It is designed to process 'heavy crude' as against the 'light crude' produced in Nigeria - this heavy crude is typically a Urals blend from Russia or possibly Venezuelan crude. The reasons for using heavy crude is to produce products like asphalt and base oils for lubricants.

As for the conflicting reports between the minister and customs, it is not surprising - it just goes to prove that even the government is not clear on what is going on in the oil industry in Nigeria.

What is shocking however is that customs do not receive documentation on how much petrol gets imported - if we don't check at the point of importation, it is almost certain that any calculation of subsidy is going to be wrong.uh

So crude oil is taken out of Nigeria to the high seas briefly and brought back as import with duty waved off and sent to a refinery for refining. wink wink cry cry

Hmmm, If one was to write a novel on this subsidy issue, it would surely be a best seller. Nigeria = Fraudster; from the little yahoo boy hustling on the streets to the ministers at the top.

In Nigeria, proceeds from corruption are privatized and losses are socialized. Who will save Nigeria, how can a country be that religious and mega corrupt at the same time.

Hmm you learn new stuff on this NL.  BTW, is it also designed to refine light crude? if so, any idea on proportion vs heavy crude

sidebar:
One of the vexing issues, as I understand, is that it was built in Kaduna for political reasons; to pacify the north.  Somewhere closer to the Port makes sense

The custom officer doesn't know where the crude is loaded from, what he said was what they told him initially. All those crude heading to Kaduna refinary are lifted illegally from Niger Delta i suspected that,hw come Kaduna refinary was operating & yet we count it among the inoperative refinaries? Custom now take order from importers not to demand for proper documentation of input & output.Chai! Alison don finish ooo!

But after doing some study on her am begining to wonder if the persons views are not right after all.

yeah nlanders, mouth runners, patriotic cows,  when oprah said that nigerians are corrupt, you ppl jumped out and wore your hypocritic dresses and condemned the woman, when foreign countries say we are corrupt, u say they want to come and take over our oil, now is it getting clear that all the news you have heard on NTA is a lie, or all the policies that has been made since 1999 was just to rob us blind while we applauded to it.
BTW, this wont change anything because when the whole scale of corruption is unveiled, you will see that is affects even the judges and the so called prosecutors, and one way or the other either your uncle or your pastor gets involved, then we will ask for unity government,
so even if you get a document showing how madam allison was carting away the money, duely signed by her with a big "Zap you nigeria" stamp at the bottom, it wont change nothing
the corruption has interwoven so much with our everyday lives that it helps run the economy,

Kaduna refinery and one of the PH refineries were designed and built to refine heavy crude as against the light sweet Bonny light that we produce. So there's nothing new there, except to such info are giving to the unsuspecting public to appear as though something fishy had been done.

The by products for the petrochemical industries depends on the type of crude refined. However, light crude oil gives more PMS per barrel than heavy, but less by-products

There is Heavy crude in Ondo Ogun Edo and Lagos states over 30 billion barrels-

Canada uses around 47% of its Heavy crude/Bitumen to make its petroleum products Why cant naija?
Canada has I think the second largest oil reserves in the world but Half if not Majority comes from Heavy crude found in SW Nigeria.

About 31 billion barrels of heavy crude oil is held in bituminous sand deposits in south-western Nigeria. The bituminous sand deposits occur in 12km - wide belt that extends from ljebu-Ode in Ogun State, through Ondo State, to Edo State. It lies in the Upper Cretaceous sequence of the Abeokuta Formation in the eastern Dahomey Basin. Nigeria imports an average of 50,000 barrels of heavy crude oil a day from Venezuela for producing "base oil" which is used to blend with lubricants and greases in Kaduna Refinery. There is, therefore, a need to extract heavy oil from the Ondo deposit for the refinery and for bitumen.

Naija - dont worry

Very correct. It is also called heavy crude oil!

Bitumen communities seek FG’s protection

The bitumen producing states in the country are Ondo, Ogun and Edo. . . . . . .
Vanguard gathered that the country has the third largest bitumen deposits in the world with Venezuela and Canada, coming first and second, respectively.

I wonder what business Nigeria has in import both heavy and light crude oil sad

So after all these, Deziani and the Custom director willl still have a job.

No nation, Society, Business or organization can progress when you have no punishment for incompetence.

Obj ruined the country by presiding over a shoddy election in 1979, he came back.

Ringim cannot stop Boko Haram, we gave him National award.

Deziani don't know what goes on in her ministry, yet she still has a job.

Oga custom, watched as people siphon fuel to Togo, he kept mute, he's still getting salary.

Goodluck Jonathan ran Bayelsa account to the ground, we still voted him president.

Yet we want to move forward?

Isssorai then.  embarassed

what I can deduce from this report is that,
1. Some of this refinery are actually work at full capacity
2. That the crude being imported back is being sold to themself at ridiculously low price
3. That this crude goes thru this channels to avoid being recorded as part of the crude supplied by NNPC directly the refinery
4. The the crude which pass thru this channels when refined are not recorded as part of locally refined fuel.
5. NNPC now store this refine fuel as imported fuel for marketer and itself
6. Subsidy is collected for fuel that as passed thru this channels
This people go don get money oh. she we sure say na dangote get money pass for africa
