Am building a browser base application with php, this application is to run on a local network ( intranet ). I want to hide the browser address bar so i use javascript ( window.open("userlogin.php","null","width=600,height=500,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no ,status=yes,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes"; )

it hide others but could not hide location bar on modern browser. So How else can one hide the browser location bar? thought of using jquery or ajax but got no result. How can i hide the browser location bar in mordern browser?

Impossible. What i usually do when faced with this challenge is to develop a custom browser - i develop softwares as well as websites. The custom browser i created is what is used by the client - that way i dont get to display address.

1) please define "modern browser"
2) Not all browsers will allow you to hid address bars for security reasons.

I took the liberty of making a screencapture of one of such browsers for you - from a school portal i made some very long years ago.
