Senator Joseph Kennedy Waku has dragged former President Olusegun Obasanjo before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the 2001 massacre of  Tiv in UKUM and Katsina Ala local Government Areas.

Addressing a meeting in his Benue North  Senatorial District of Benue State over the weekend , the former Senator informed his kinsmen that a list of charges against the former president had been prepared and filed at the International Court at The Hague
One of such charges the former lawmaker said, is the genocide in Tivland at the alleged instance of the former president, as he vowed to make sure that Obasanjo is jailed.

It could be recalled that in October 2001, a group of rampaging Nigerian troops acting on orders from the presidency invaded Tiv villages killing people including women and children, a conflict which observers said also displaced thousands of Tiv people from their lands.

The occasion was also organized by Mzough U Tiv in the United Kingdom and their well-wishers to commemorate the death of those Tiv people during the  crisis including their families.

Odi people should tow the same step.Obasanjo must be made to account for all these atrocities.

You find the culprits not ordering the massacre of a village including women and children.

Obasanjo should be hanged!

Just like BH if the community has helped in protecting the identity of the killers then they deserve what they got.
U dont kill policemen like that because the are not ND citizen, was it not OBJ who gave the same pple 13% of the resource back from 3% and NDDC ?
Next time they shld look b4 leaping.

you don't kill people just because they killed 6 police officers

the best he could have done was to arrest those people that killed the man

the reason why OBJ sent soldiers to ODI was different from the 6 police officer

1. They killed a soldier and as an ex-military man. he got angry. He did not order the killing of anyone but sent soldiers there to claim things down. apprently the soldiers had other movtive

2. Odi village was harbouring militants and indeed militancy started from there. they he sent soldiers there to contain the situation

Now there is no justification to kill people. he should have investigated the soldiers that killed the people and bring them to book.

It is a stain to his record and thus he has to account for it

Who are all these illiterates using ICJ as a threat for intimidating the society? ehn, who are these fools?

First of all, ICJ does not recognise lawsuits or entertain legal cases filed by non-sovereign entities. This Zaki is fooling his villagers to soothe their emotions. Pretty soon he will ask them to vote him or raise funds so he can lawyer on their behalf.

Can someone please tell Tivis that Zaki's lawsuit is a bogus claim fabricated to swindle their pockets. ICJ only entertains legal suit between sovereign powers, not between individuals . . . its not a civil court and it's not human rights court for individual grievances. Tiv of Benue is a component of a sovereign state which Obj was the ruler of. . . . one and the same entity! Lawsuit tossed in thrash. . . . . . .!

Sheyguy is not to far away from the truth, after-all not to long ago - a lot of people saw nothing wrong in the

killing of innocents by soldiers in Borno just before BH took their game to the next level.

What's the difference? According to them, it was referred to as COLLATERAL DAMAGE!!!!!!

Mr man go and rest. If obasanjo had not acted fast, it may had gone beyond reach. Jst imagine what is happening now in d country and all Jonathan could do is 2 impoverish d masses d more while thousands of being killed in their numbers every yr. What nigeria need is a strong man like obasanjo who can act fast and arrest any situation b4 it goes out of hand. See, am advocating 4 obasanjo 2 come back 2 power if not 4 our constitution because he's d only person dat knows d solution 2 our present situation.

bloody hypocrites, always shouting murder when it's you who is the murderer either by secretly doing it practical or taking money or positions in govt and cover that murder.just compare it to charges against el mustafa and tell the world that your obasanjo did not wipe or commit massacre in two whole towns in the southsouth and here in the middle belt.something he dared not in the core north even when zamfara governor forced sharia down the throat of peaceful citizens which later paved the way for boko shegu.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                @alhj_bastard haram, stop speaking with both side of your mouth there is nothing like he did not give orders to kill anybody and stop pretending to be fair at the same time trying to paint a devil with a good picture.

If we are follow your thoughts, then GEJ should have sent soldiers to Maiduguri to waste the land.

Had he done that, folks like you would have been the first to scream "murderer".
Yes, policemen were killed and it was so wrong. Yet it was more wrong for the Head of State and Commander in Chief to supervise such a bloody rampaige. If it is possible, let OBJ face the music.

Bunch of hypocrites!!
No wonder the igbos hate you guys.
When GEJ brought soldiers into the streets,to calm your parasitically induced protests, you were screaming blue murder, tyranny and all that.
Here is your son who is responsible for genocide in a 'democratic' nation, and you dont find anything wrong it.
The next person that will tell me that yorubas are progressives because they did not vote and support OBJ will receive a thunderous punch from me.
May God punish you all for condoning bloodshed.
May the blood of those killed, cry against your land.
May their fate be visited upon your heads.
