If a christian converts to a muslim or otherwise its a personal decision. If only we can just let everyone practise the religion of their choice the world will be a better place. Personally I don't either make fun or try to bad mouth other people's religion be it Islam or the traditional Africa religion. Reason being that while growing up I have leaved with every singly tribe you can think of in Nigeria and I have also lived with people of various religious believes as well. One thing I know for sure is that for the Muslims I grew up with; I see nothing different from them and every other person within the neighborhood. A times some of their wades show up in our church on Sundays and some days some of the non-Muslim kids go to Mosque with them as well. On Xmas being the normal tradition people cook and give to their Muslim neighbors and even go out with their kids on such days like wise during Sallah. Mind you some of the kids are from the core North.  I will also like to add that I served in Yobe and before them lived 5 years in Kano which means I have actually see both sides of Nigerian Muslim viz-a viz Southern and Northern Muslim.


Presently am in Europe among my friends here, 3 are Muslim from Niger ( though they had their Uni education in Northern Nigeria ), another a Muslim from Sudan and two other Muslim from Nigeria, though from the West. But for once, they are more like the Muslims neighbors I grew up around and have not given me reason to think otherwise. But I must admit that the guys from Niger are not really comfortable discussing religion neither have they on their part exhibit any anti-Christian stance. while the Sudanese will alway call me at my free time to come and discuss religion and I have heard him agree with some of my position about Islam that I think are extreme going by the events around the world and he has on many occasions express his displeasure about it as well.  

Based on the above my question to both of you are;

1. Are you from the North? ( Though from your post I could infer that you have or still have family in Lagos, but not everyone that stays in Lagos are originally from Lagos )

2. Please can you enlighten me on why the Northern Muslim tend to be aggressive and mean to others in the name of Islam?

3. what would you say is responsible for the difference in attitude towards others of the Muslims I grew up and those in Northern Nigeria?

4. Please are you guys aware or do you believe that Christians actually pray for the conversion of other faiths to Christianity not for their damnation, if you are aware of that can you say same about Islam?
