Obalufon:we are from ido-osun in osun state, a small town sandwiched btw osogbo and Ede.. we are an extension of the Enukoko royal family, our own extension is the sapoyoroo branch. we are a royal Family and the current king of ido-osun is from the enukokos(sapoyooro branch) I know ido-osun and ile-ife has a really close and historical connection, infact I know every new oni of ile-ife has rites to perform in ido-osun so the oni and oludo are usually close. I know we are descendants of obalufon because that's what we are told from childhood, and we are also told the story of obalufon and how he migrated from ile-ife besides the whole family worship it, alot still go back to ido-osun during the right time of the year to do so,and when I was young, I still remembered my grandma being a priestess of obalufon, being worshipped mainly in white clothes.. I'm still pretty young though, but that's as far as I can remember,so I hope to learn more from you about obalufon. |

You don't fully understand me. 1) Border clashes like the Ife-Modakeke crisis occur all over the World. Kashmir is a classical illustration of this. 2) Internecine /intratribal civil wars like Ibadan Vs Ijaiye war also occur worldwide. The Greek city-state of Sparta gruesomely massacred the citizens of Athens, German Kingdoms of Austria, Prussia and Bavaria ruthlessly fought one another. The bitter civil wars between Banu Hashem and Banu Saud in The Hijaz eventually led to the establishment of the Kingdoms of Jordan &Iraq in the 1920s and Saudi Arabia in 1932. Rivalries between Kano and Hadejia Emirates has led to the deaths of some many Hausa-Fulani peoples. All of these happened not because some peoples were considered non-indigenes but happened as political struggles between various dynasties/power brokers...They were essentially struggles for power, relevance and supremacy. 0balufonlll: |

After doing some more research, here is what i found. Edo is significantly closer to Yorubas than they're to Igbos... here it's a genetic proof . Yoruba and esan (esan are edoid speakers)used in this research are very very closely related and both significantly distant from Igbos and very related to each other. 1 Share
