Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ,

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has given glad tidings of the return of the Khilafah on the method of the Prophethood after the period of oppressive rule that we are under. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:

“The Prophethood will last among you for as long as Allah wills, then Allah would take it away. Then it will be (followed by) a rightly guided Khilafah upon the way of the Prophethood. It will remain for as long as Allah wills, then Allah would take it away. Then there will be a biting rule which will remain for as long as Allah wills, then He will lift it if He wills. Afterwards, there will be oppressive rule, and it will last for as long as Allah wills, then He will lift it if He wills. Then there will be a rightly guided Khilafah upon the ways of the Prophethood, then he kept silent.

تكون النبوة فيكم ما شاء الله أن تكون , ثم يرفعها الله إذا شاء أن يرفعها ثم تكون خلافة على منهاج النبوة , فتكون ما شاء الله أن تكون , ثم يرفعها إذا شاء أن يرفعها , ثم تكون ملكا عاضا فيكون ما شاء الله أن تكون , ثم يرفعها إذا شاء الله أن يرفعها , ثم تكون ملكا جبريا فتكون ما شاء الله أن تكون , ثم يرفعها إذا شاء أن يرفعها , ثم تكون خلافة على منهاج النبوة ،ثم سكت

In this Hadith, the prophet divided the history of the Muslim nation into the following eras

1. The era of the prophethood which ended with the death of the prophet.

2. The era of the 5 just Caliphates: Abou Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and Hassan bin Ali (may Allaah be pleased with them all). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that this era would last for 30 years, and so it did.

3. The era of the biting rule, an unjust and corrupt monarchy where the chair will be passed on from one ruler to the other, and so it happened after the era of the 4 just Caliphates. This era witnessed varying degrees of injustice between one king and another. This period started after Al-Hasan bin Ali {ra} and includes the Umayyad, Abbasid, Mamluks and until the fall of the Ottoman State in the twentieth century. However, we exclude a few like Abdullah bin Az-Zubayr {ra} and Umar bin Abdul-Aziz {ra}.

4. The era of oppressive rule, and it started at the end of the Ottomman empire and proceeds till our present day and it’s obvious.

5. The return of a rightly guided khilafah, and after the latest Arab incidents, everyone sees it coming.
