^^^Phew!! (sigh of relief) Thank God say we no carry last for this one. The mind boggles shocked. Hang on a minute----- just noticed kebbis' own is not yet ready sad angry. Fingers crossed Ebonyi just might beat them, but i ain't holding my breath. This Ebonyi just dey fall our hand, walahi.

^^^Na you talk am oh, my brother. Serious questions need to be asked about what efforts have been made in that state (that houses the two massive Commercial and Industrial Cities of Onitsha and Nnewi) to improve its revenue base, as a budget of N67 Billion for a State in dire need of development like Anambra is just Pathetic!!!

I personally wonder why Anambra should present the smallest budget in the entire federation.

Beaf:

Take the US for example, you don't hear that Obama is going around given money to the US states or that the US federal govt is building industries etc; those things are left for states and municipalities (LG's) to deliver instead. The US federal govt only delivers policy, standards, judiciary and defense; it is the states that deliver wealth and push development.

@Beaf, Please note on what standards U compare Nigeria to USA. US practices true FEDERAL system including resource control by states, not the central abi neo-central government we practice here. Look at the ratios of the amounts budgeted. U want to tell us that the federal government employs more people than all the states put together? Maybe U have to revise your secondary school maths as the OP was considering percentages of total budgets for capital projects.
Lets agitate for true federalism, yet some people wants to defend status quo with their 'pee'(not blood). If there is check and balances at the federal level, don't U think the federal government will be able to hold LGA's accountable? But, they won't, after all the LGA chairmen are the cronies of the men at Abuja.
If we must get out of the present socio-economic quagmire, we MUST shake off our present entho-religious ways of seeing things.

You are factually incorrect.

US FG gives subsidies and projects to various states.
