Its painful for me to see such a wonderful device wasting away, How does one download apps on Iphones? Can it be done on a laptop and transferred to the iphone coz getting Wifi would be difficult for him.

In all honesty, 70% of my stuffs (mostly games and entertainment) were paid for
those u can see in iTunes, yeah were paid for, GTB MasterCard,
every goddamn song on my PC was also bought off iTunes . . .
[s]did i say i bought Jahbless' album there too[/s] smiles

The remaining 30% (which comprises tweaking apps & utilities) were gotten via Installous 4.

I'd be real quick with this. Open your notebooks and just DUBB

iTunes Store:
pros: fake big boy status, u have spare cash to throw around for apps, songs, etc
you can come on NL and show us a screenie of your apps and ppl will say wow
looks more professsional especially when backing up to iCloud . . u need premium, as 5GB is too small
cons: contains 550,000 apps or so that you basically would find boring
requires a valid credit card
u cant purchase hacks here, sorry

Cydia Store:
pros: the best of the best can be found here (when it comes to tweaks and hacks) ONLY
millions of repos for you to download HD themes from
cons: u need a credit card too linked to amazon to make purchases
zaps bandwidth (especialy with too many repos) cos they always update each time cydia is opened

Installous:
pros: this app is gotten off Cydia
u see a fav. app on iTunes and no cash? then download it via Installous for free
this is basically a free version of iTunes store
cons: requires a jailbreaked OS
remember, these apps are CRACKED, so use at your own risk
some cracked apps might throw up compatibility/stability errors

Thanks Guys, really enlightening. I'll advice the dude to jailbreak his iphone. Question, If the Iphone is Jailbroken, can one download apps using the internet on another device eg blackberry then transfer the file to a pc and install on the Iphone?

u can drop a file into any location and install . .

u gotta save the local .ipa files into a specified folder
hence the need to navigate internal file folders using iFunBox, iFile etc

var/mobile/etc and etc and etc . . .

i dont think u can download ipa files thru blackberry (never used one), but u can download directly from d laptop thru apptrackr dot org. u can den transfer into itunes and install into the iphone that has appsync installed.

^^ why not! u can download with BB, afterall it has a broswer (and i just did now, from APTRCKR)
just save it on ur memory card, transfer to PC via usb cable
a quick way to sync files it to add them in the "AUTOMATICALLY ADD TO ITUNES" folder
Open ur itunes and viola, it's there . . .

------in simple terms, a cydia repo (repository) is a database. this database contains tweaks, themes, utilites of diffent categories. A repo, short for repository, is added just by keying in the website address. if you know how Wikipedia functions, you'll know what a repo is.
