Hello, This thread is an extension of the thread Please Help Nairalander Perx https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-855820.0.html (So please read her story if you haven't done so before). We are indeed grateful for all your material and moral support for Perx so far- it goes a long way and is truly appreciated. Perx is right now in hospital and is due for surgery this week-the first in a series that she needs to undergo before being able to walk again without pain. As part of our efforts to raise funds towards Perx's case, we have decided to create this thread looking for 1,000 people that will contribute N1,000 towards Perx's surgeries, care and treatment. The aim is to raise N1,000 x 1,000 which equals N1 million, we like to call it The 1k4N1k Campaign. This is without prejudice to the campaign already going on to help Perx. If you really want Nigerians to donate to this cause, make available a method of showing those who have donated and how much they have given. We did something like that recently and it became a competition where we even surpassed our target. |

Unfortunately, I and the members of TeHN are so tied-up with work that we may not be able to deliver that the way you have suggested. I hope those who requested account details have received it. At some point i even saw some quarelling that their "gifts" had not been publicised on the thread!  If you must give, give . . . dont make it about a competition but about your own compassion. |

Fhemmmy: Seriously, is there a problem with posting the account number? I see that the same omission exists in all other threads. In these days of internet banking, its quite easy to do a transfer to the account without needing to put up your email here for the spamists to have a jolly time with. I want to do a transfer thats why am making this observation and not a mockery of your efforts. |

maclatunji: This is about money issue and we talking about Nigeria where trust has been blown with the oshodi train, no one trust anyone anymore. So to realy get what you want, you might have to go extra mile to make people believe in the cause of the donation, people wanna see more, the time you would spend in sending mail to different people for the account number, if you leave it here, i am sure people might do more. Looking for 1000 People is not a joke, so go beyond the norm since you are asking people to go beyond the norms. I will not mind to donate, but i surely need to know that the money is going to where it was promised to go. |

I agree with you 100% but my hands are tied- I had not been able to browse NL for about 12 hours due to work and there are so many other constraints related to what you are rightfully and genuinely asking for. Let us just put it this way: use what you have to get what you want. What we want is to help this young lady, so bear with the obvious inefficiencies- I hope you understand. |
