Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Obiagu1(m): 3:29am On Feb 14, 2012
I don't know why I sometimes wake up in the morning feeling so bitter being a Nigerian.
Every news that comes out of Nigeria is so frustrating from news of former governors detained for corruption and later acquitted to Boko Haram to reading news of great poverty in the country to . . ., damn no good news.
Nothing gladdens me about Nigeria. So sad

Turn that hate into something more passionate. Became an advocacy for Nigerian separation.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by KayDee4: 3:36am On Feb 14, 2012
Yeah, but there's nothing you can do about it. Look at the bright side, there are some positives about being Nigerian. Nigeria is NOT 100% 5H1T
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Obiagu1(m): 3:40am On Feb 14, 2012
Well, I don't think I'm ready to champion such a course.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by tpia5: 4:13am On Feb 14, 2012
Seems to me you have the bitterness in you just waiting for something to latch on.
As usual, nigeria is an easy target.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Odunnu: 4:21am On Feb 14, 2012
I'll gladly choose to be a Nigerian over so many other countries.
Point is, Nigeria isnt the worst. We have terrible challenges and so does every country have. What can you do to make it better? That should be your waking up thoughts
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Nnenna1(f): 4:36am On Feb 14, 2012
I still love Nigeria and being Nigerian - despite it's many shortcomings. And there are many.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Obiagu1(m): 5:29am On Feb 14, 2012
I hope to one day start seeing what kept you guys optimistic.
As for me, Nigeria is like a sick person suffering from a known disease that has medication but rather than give him the right medication, he gets a placebo or an adulterated version of the medication or even neglected entirely.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Onlytruth(m): 5:39am On Feb 14, 2012
You are spot on my brother. I feel your pain completely.
Your pain is felt by EVERY progressive minded individual in Nigeria.
Don't mind some people who cannot see the world outside of their immediate comfort zones. Some of us have absolutely no reason to feel sad about how things are in Nigeria, afterall we are FAR withdrawn from most of its impacts. But how can one be happy, when most of his people are sad?
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by dempeople(m): 5:42am On Feb 14, 2012
@Obiagu, I can assure you that you are not the only one who harbours such thoughts. My hatred for Nigeria is unsurpassed and intensive.
Its a name that conjures up very very negative feelings in my mind.

Nwanne anom ofuma.
Please take note about police siege of Igboland.
I'm happy that the new IG seems to be doing something about it. We must resist the constant shooting of our people under all types of pretences.

+10000000 on this
You are not the only one harboring this feelings.
In the past, I believed in Nigeria, lying to myself constantly that at least Nigeria isn't sh1t but I woked up.
Nigeria is sh1t, always have been and always will be. It is not going anywhere, looking at Nigeria today, looking at all the stories about Nigeria, looking at this forum, I feel ashamed and disgust calling myself Nigerian; sometimes I wish I was from another African country, still Igbo, but any other African country: Cameroon, Ghana, Sierra Leone, even Ethiopia I no mind.
I'm channeling that disgust into separating out of this curse we deemed a nation.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Onlytruth(m): 6:37am On Feb 14, 2012
lol, my brother you hit the nail on the head.
Some of our brothers can't separate being Igbo and being a Nigerian. Fact is that they are not necessarily the same thing, and can exist mutually exclusive of each other.
When some of my Igbo brothers say they love Nigeria, what they actually mean is that they love Igboland.
To be able to separate the two is what I call FREE THINKING.

Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Nobody: 1:35pm On Feb 14, 2012
Everytime i want to read the news, i always brace myself because our headlines are always screaming things like:
DOOM, ANARCHY, POVERTY, DEATH, BOMBS, DEATH, MORE DEATHS, MASSIVE DESTRUCTION BY RAIN, BY PEOPLE. . . .
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Nobody: 1:53pm On Feb 14, 2012
Go and sit somewhere. I am sure if you are made senator today, you would looooooove Nigeria. All this hatred bullshit is because you are not one of those chopping. Most of us are the same, give the man post now and he would compare 9ja to Heaven.
Just joking though!

Exactly, despite the fact that we are far withdrawn from its direct impact and are comfortable where we are, yet one cannot insulate himself from the shock waves coming from home. When you look at the problems, the solution stares you straight in your eyes but you have no means to put things in motion to solve it. Leadership in Nigeria is so pathetic!

I feel like running away. You graduate from school, no work.Even those working cant feed properly.Police, government and even ur neighbours are not ur friend.Everybody is smiling but not happy.Everybody is pretending to be your friend but looking for the slightest opportunity to cheat you. What a country.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Dede1(m): 2:31pm On Feb 14, 2012
I love Nigeria for its retrogressive nature which engenders in me the burning desire to destroy it. When I wake up and remember there is a real estate called Nigeria, I go back to sleep.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Nobody: 2:32pm On Feb 14, 2012
It's natural to hate Nigeria if you're Igbo. Aside that, there's no arguing Nigeria is a piece of shitt.
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by oiseworld: 2:38pm On Feb 14, 2012
guy no country is free of negative news its just that we complain soo much that we never notice or celebrate the good of our country.
I am proud to be nigerian because all isee is opportunities. As a scientist and a good businessman i begin to wonder if iwould be able to achieve anything if i was born in the US Because the country is soo developed and i would feel so small. so be strong God made you here because he wants you to be a change agent.
Finally, if you try all and u still don't love ur coumtry, then i think you just have to look for a country u love and go there because u woun't achive anything in an enveronment you don't love or see anything good about. Soo cheer up.

And that will end corruption and mismanagement how?
Last time i looked we have igbos, yorubas ,hausa and all sort of tribes on government looting so i hardly think seperation will solve the corruption issue at all.
GEJ- minority niger delta
Deziani Alison-Madueke- again niger delta PH
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala - igbo
All are from different tribes all are corrupt and clueless.

It has always being my dreams to be Igbo in Republic of Igbo land. In addition would not mind being a Biafran in a Biafra that will consist of all Igbo land, Ibibio, Annang, Ogoni, Ijo (Rivers/Bayelsa), Cross River and Idoma (Benue State).

@ obiagu1, from the tone of your writing it's seems you are living in a Western world, for how long , I don't know. But and an adage says East or West, Home is the best.
I felt your pain and anguish about lack of progress of our DEAR Country , NIGERIA ( since 1960), but your pains should not be raised to the level of Hatred because our country is our country. We should all try what we could to contribute our quota to the development to make Nigeria a better place. Don't let us forget that we in Diaspora are only developing another man's country, no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable be are.
@Onlytruth, I know what you meant or insinuating, , The truth of the matter is that, to be an Igbo man of today, you MUST be a Nigerian !!!! So thank God that your are an IGBO and a Nigerian, not a citizen of any other African countries.
God Bless Nigeria !!!

You don't hate Nigeria more than I do. The country is disgusting
Re: Why Do I Hate Nigeria So Much? by Amalaaba: 3:07pm On Feb 14, 2012
Nothing is wrong with Nigeria. Nigerians and especially the leadership are wicked.
Check all the leaders as they are dying in foreign lands because they refused to build good hospitals for us.
Our problem is not Religion or Race but bad leaders.
