oshiomole is not a saint but neither is he a devil, he is only human and as such he is bound to be criticized or praised. i just had a memory flash of his administration and i believe when am done with my little write up you the poster would not be mad when you realize why people are hauling insults at you, in fact you would agree with them, that you are indeed what they say you are.
when he came into office he meet edo state in a state far worst than pathetic, to this end he realized as well as every normal reasoning individual that the state allocation and as well as the internal generated revenue would not be enough to start and finish any project in benin. edo state was faced with massive road decays, erosion and flooding were frequently experienced by the state, illegal taxation, security issues( kidnapping), poor educational facilities, jobless youth, corruption in the entire government sector, and the worst of them all- PDP. having listed the challenges facing the state do you think the government did wrong in borrowing fund for the development of the state. it has overcome the menace of kidnapping that ravished the state, even though late yar adua approved the joint task force to the state but immediately GEJ took office he scrapped it. the state had to purchase vehicles and other things for the police to aid in the struggle, all were frm the state treasury. the lagos benin-oluku-ugbowo road was approved for dualization and expansion by yar adua as the existing ones could no longer cater for the needs of motorist, as well as airport road and other federal government road in benin, was an agreement reached that federal government would rebuild as well as refund the agreed percentage already used to work by the state government. all this were revoked by the GEJ administration when funds have been borrowed and implemented for this projected, there is no local government that the state government is not tarring and rehabilitating roads, all prim. and sec.schools in the state are been rebuilt. illegal taxation has stopped, youth are employed by the government's direct involvement in projects. the erosion mess in benin will soon be a thing of the pass as government is already working on it (even agencies like - world bank, U.S AID, said the state can not manage it alone, and advised a state of emergency be declared). there is presence of government in the state and the man's project are campaigning for him. he raised the internal generated revenue to about 2 billion, he introduce the mass transport scheme to alleviate the sufferings of his people. GRA is a failed master plan and so its case its different, cause they are no drains and people build on the right of way. -PDP put him in debt. yet he is still achieving all around the state.

ranlaen:

feel what?new industry, new jobs? or the crippling debt grin

well you are on a mission here no doubt.

Your point here is Oshiomhole is pilling up debts. But we are seeing what he is doing in Edo state. We agree he can never turn Edo state to Dubai, maybe another chap will do that but he has raised some standards which the average man on the street, the market women will commend him for. You didnt mention the New Central Hospital Building? You should equally commend him for that abi na stone age person you be?

Test yourself and take your arguments to Oba market, and just watch how benin women will use your face to slice fish.

Well in the coming weeks, your thread will fade away, but the Man will still do what best he can do.

But you know GEJ the muda4cker is seeking for another Loan right? Nigeria is borrowing continuously and pilling up debt so what is your grouse here?

Did you see the monthly allocations for december and see where edo state lies in the list? Bayelsa was second but damn, we both know FRESH FART'S state is a mess. This is enough to say Oshiomhole UWESE EVEN THOUGH OMASE, BUT UYAE.

But come to think of it Silly, how can any state in Nigeria become bankrupt with this style of government we run.

i like this reply

Bottom line is that Oshiomhole has done far more for Edo State than the pestilential PDP Government of Lucky igbinedion (Curses be Upon Him!). However he isn't perfect and as such constructive criticism should not be shouted down.
