This has been a hot topic of discussion here in the US in the past few days. Why, you may ask. Well, Rick Santorum the current front runner in the republican race for candidate in the 2012 presidential election said the following back in 2008: "Satan has his sights on the United States of America! Since this statement surfaced a few days ago, several political pundits have expressed surprise that a candidate for US presidency could make a statement referencing satan. Most of them acknowledged the existence of evil but were reluctant to admit there is a “Satan” somewhere plotting to attack the US. As this issue was threatening to derail his candidacy, Mr Santorum was forced to make some clarification. He now says he intended to say “evil” and not “satan” in that statement. Most people of faith believe in the existence of Satan. But putting faith aside, can that belief be supported with any Philosophical or Scientific argument? If so, why did nobody come to the defense of Mr Santorum forcing him to drop the use of the word, satan. |
