http://af.reuters.com/article/nigeriaNews/idAFL6E8L4E4B20121004 Nigeria plans 172 bln naira T-bill auction LAGOS Oct 4 (Reuters) - Nigeria plans to issue 171.83 billion naira ($1.09 billion) in treasury bills ranging from 3-month to 1-year maturities at its regular bi-monthly debt auction on Oct. 11, the central bank said on Thursday. The regulator said it will issue 30.16 billion naira in 91-day paper, 73.49 billion naira in 182-day bills and 68.18 billion naira in the 364-day paper next week. Traders said the 1-year paper is oversubscribed by offshore investors and local pension funds, which have shown robust demand for local debt after it was included in the JP Morgan government index this week. Hi guys, I have some questions. 1) When you buy T-Bills are you agiven acertificate or something to prove that you bought the T-Bills? I bought through First bank even though my account was credited,I was given nothing. I feel I should have something to hold as proof. 2) When you buy T-Bills and specify that the capital should be rolled over every 91 days, how do you stop this roll over and get your money out, for whatever reason when it matures. Thankxs in advance. 1 Like |

Desanta: Hi guys, 1. Yes, you should be given a Certificate... you may need to use it as a collateral for a loan at a point in time. As soon as I submitted my first NTB request letter at my Diamond Bank branch, I immediately asked for a certificate, and I was given one about 4 days later. Since then I am always given a Certificate any time I win at the 'NTB auction'. You therefore only need to ask for it, IMHO. 2. I guess you simply need to submit a letter to change your original instruction to First Bank BEFORE your current capital matures. That should do it. As for the future, my advice is that you consider instructing your bank via an NTB request letter to invest your capital for 91 days only, in the first instance. You thereafter only need to renew the instruction via a new letter, if you wish to re-invest... that's what I do anyway and it works well for me. I wonder what other NTB investors think. God bless Nigeria. 3 Likes |

Hi, When is the next auction? Any indication of the direction it might go? I expect the 2013 budget will make it go up a bit as FGN has to borrow to handle the deficit. |
