D woman tuk 4 pints of blood b4 she ws operated. D baby boy ws already dead, d woman went into coma dat yesterday. I nw asked him hw is ur wife nw? He said "doctors say she don die, but i no gree say my wife don die". I asked him whn did doc tell u ur wife hs died? He said "for morni". I asked if dey hv removed her, he said yes. 4my mind whc one cm be u no gree say ur wife don die whn dey hv removed her since morni and dis is eveni. He asked me if d midwife is bak, i said she is not bak , her number is not even going. He said "u see wetin person dey do em fellow human being, dat d midwife knew dats why she travelled. Apportioning blame cant bring bak ur wife nd baby. Will go nd pay a condolence visit 2morrow. A case dat wud not hv led2 dead. I'm even imagining if she ws not taking her routine drugs dat made her tk up2 4pints of blood. D midwife no try too, according2 dem d woman ws in antenatal on monday, after d antenatal d midwife travelled dat same monday. Madam your pikin go big oo, weighing 2.7kg at 32wks" after all my warning. Went home and started ketoing on fruits and vegetables, less food, even drank lipton with one full liquid peak milk. rhukkie: Teamie pls i want to know if it's ur doc that allowed you to stay up to 41 weeks and 2days or you intentionally did. My doc said I will not be allowed to exceed 40weeks and I will not be induced. Automatic CS if Labour doesn't come on its own after 40weeks. |

rvpbae:It's not funny o my sister. just to make it easy or you can be pulling it out yourself around when you're almost due. As per bottles et al.. I didn't buy too even with my first. I don't have any bottles till now. After 6 months, I switched to cup, plates and spoons. I also did exclusive breastfeeding but for the first few hours when lactation is still been established, ur baby will need to feed on something hence the Nan 1. My hospital does that successfully with Cup & spoon or syringe.. Formula in my hospital is very expensive so I bought mine already. 1 Like |

B.S on Monday I made a post here and some sweet mama's adviced me,and I listened. on Tuesday afternoon I decided to check my BP and urine somewhere close to my house.Bp was 150/115. and protein in urine was 3+,immediately I called my gyn and he told me to come to the hospital that evening, DH got home from work and took me,we arrived by 8pm,my BP was already 190/115 and 3+ protein in my urine(thats preemclampsia) I was admitted immediately, given drugs,injections and drips to reduce the BP and be set for C.S.on Wednesday morning, by 6.30am my baby was brought out. My lessons from my experience is that Pre-emclampsia is terrible,it can happen suddenly without notice, all preggy mama's please regularly check ur BP and protein in urine,if you notice any change in ur system,hospital straight. If the doctor Say's C.S agree. On Wednesday evening. 12 hours after delivery, I had serious convulsion my BP rised to 210/115, I almost died,my baby cries kept me awake(like she knew something was happening),But God who gave me my child gave me a second chance,and his spirit were with the doctors who did all their best to keep me alive.We are still in the hospital,till I recover well. 61 Likes |

Saw this & thought to share. Immunization Schedule in Nigeria: The Full Course A child is considered vaccinated if he/she has received a vaccine against tuberculosis, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio-vaccine (at least 3 doses) and measles vaccine (1 dose). All of these vaccines should be received during the first year of the baby’s life, over five visits to the doctor, including those doses that were delivered at birth. Vaccinations needed at birth are BCG, HBV-1, and OPV-0. They are given to the babies right after they are is born in the hospital. If a woman gives birth at home, she should still go to the local hospital and vaccinate her child. BCG – this vaccine’s name stands for Bacillus Calmette Guerin. It is a compulsory immunization that prevents the baby from tuberculosis. This vaccine is received on the left arm. Usually, it will leave a small scar, which will be noticeable for the child's entire life. The baby received about 0,05 ml of the vaccine. Tuberculosis is a severe infectious illness which can lead to the fatal outcome without proper treatment. The usual symptoms of it are fever, sweating at night, weight loss, and coughing up blood. HBV-1 – this is a vaccine against Hepatitis B virus. This immunization measure is given to a baby on the thigh, in the dose of 0,5 ml. It is the first dose out of three. Two next doses of HBV-1 will be given to the child at the age of 6 and 14 weeks. Hepatitis B is a dangerous illness which can affect the liver and lead to serious damage or even cancer. The symptoms of hepatitis B are muscle pain, jaundice, vomiting, diarrhea, and tiredness. Sometimes the symptoms do not show up explicitly. OPV-0 – this vaccine helps against polio virus. It is given by mouth, in two or three drops. OPV-0 should be given in four doses, and while the first one is given to the baby right after birth, the next ones will be at the age of 6, 10 and 14 weeks. Polio is a special virus infection which affects the nervous system and might lead to paralysis. Usually, a person gets polio through consumption of water or food which contains the virus, or direct contact with body fluids of an infected person. The necessary vaccinations at the age of 6 weeks are DPT, HBV-2, and OPV-1. DPT stands for diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus vaccine. These three vaccines are combined together and given on the thigh in the dose of 0,5 ml. Diphtheria is a severe illness that can damage the heart and nervous system, and in some cases, it even leads to the fatal outcome. It usually shows up as a thick covering at the back of the throat, which is a primary symptom of the disease and can lead to chills, fever, and sore throat. Tetanus is a special kind of illness that is possible to catch through germs that get into the body through the open wounds and cuts. It can lead to painful spasms and breathing issues. Pertussis is an illness which leads to seizures, brain damage, and pneumonia. It causes coughing spells which last for about a week. At the age of 10 weeks, the child needs DPT-2, HBV-2, and OPV-2. They are all the next doses of the vaccines that were mentioned before. At 14 weeks, the baby is given the following vaccines: DPT-3, HBV-3, and OPV-3. The next vaccination has to take place when the baby is 9 months old. The little one has to get the following vaccines: Yellow fever vaccine – this one is given to the baby at the right arm in the dose of 0,5 ml. It protects the baby from the infectious disease called yellow fever, which usually is common in Africa, especially its tropical and subtropical areas. The symptoms of yellow fever are a headache, vomiting, appetite loss, and muscle pain. Sometimes you can bleed from the nose, mouth, and eyes. This illness is usually transmitted by mosquito bite. Measles vaccine – like the yellow fever, it is given on the right arm in 0,5 ml dose. This immunization measure will protect your child from measles. It is a very viral infection and one of the primary reasons why children in Nigeria die. Usually, the person who struggles from measles has a high temperature, sore eyes, running nose, little white spots in the mouth, and an allergic rash all over the body. Vitamin A – this is not exactly a vaccine, but this vitamin is given to a child as a supplement to boost his/her resistance to infections. To sum up, the primary vaccines that the baby in Nigeria needs from birth to the age of 9 months are: BCG OPV HBV DPT Yellow fever Measles If you have any questions about the other vaccines, you should clarify them with your medical care provider. If your doc is suggesting automatic CS at 40weeks then you really need to ask more questions. My baby's head was already down as at 36 weeks. Pls find out more.All the best teamie |
