Salam alaikum jamatu muslim, barka dey sallah on the just concluded Eid-el- kabir celebration, but I can't help but notice some irregularities as pertaining some traditional rulers in yoruba land who are non muslims but praying alongside the muslims in the name of religion tolerance, some even go to the extent of leading the Eid prayer for the ummah "this is totally unacceptable in the religion of islam" base on some evidence from the Quran and the ha'adith some of which are: Surah Al-Kafiroon: قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ Say: O unbelievers! لَا أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ I do not serve that which you serve, Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve: وَلَا أَنَا عَابِدٌ مَّا عَبَدتُّمْ Nor am I going to serve that which you Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion. The verses above are one of the numerous evidence by the Quran that there is an explicit difference between islam and other religion, we can't say because of religion tolerance we will start trespassing anyhow without boundaries. Imagine someone leading the prayer for a congregation without even believing in "kalimatu shahada". Tolerance in islam can be explained within the scope of some of this concepts: * Not blaspheming the gods/deities of non-Muslims. This implies that a Muslim must not make derogatory statements against Jesus/Ogun/Sango, et cetera. It is a violation of the rights of others to religion. Q. 6:108 says: ﻭَﻟَﺎ ﺗَﺴُﺒُّﻮﺍ ﺍﻟَّﺬِﻳﻦَ ﻳَﺪْﻋُﻮﻥَ ﻣِﻦْ ﺩُﻭﻥِ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪِ ﻓَﻴَﺴُﺒُّﻮﺍ ﺍﻟﻠَّﻪَ ﻋَﺪْﻭًﺍ ﺑِﻐَﻴْﺮِ ﻋِﻠْﻢٍ ۗ ﻛَﺬَٰﻟِﻚَ ﺯَﻳَّﻨَّﺎ ﻟِﻜُﻞِّ ﺃُﻣَّﺔٍ ﻋَﻤَﻠَﻬُﻢْ ﺛُﻢَّ ﺇِﻟَ ﺭَﺑِّﻬِﻢْ ﻣَﺮْﺟِﻌُﻬُﻢْ ﻓَﻴُﻨَﺒِّﺌُﻬُﻢْ ﺑِﻤَﺎ ﻛَﺎﻧُﻮﺍ ﻳَﻌْﻤَﻠُﻮﻥ Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people their own doing... * Treating them with kindness and respect. This applies to those who are not in a state of war on hostility with Muslims. Allah forbids you not with regards to those who fight you not for your faith nor drive you out from your homes from dealing kindly and justly with them. And Allah loves those that are just. Thus, those that will help us tell the Oni of Ife and Oluwo of Iwo in Ondo state to stop this act in the name of religion tolerance and also the most disheartening of it all is that some knowledgeable ulamhas who has knowledge about all these situations were present behind these Obas. May Almighty Allah help us and make us great in the fold of Islam. |

The former NBA Chairman, who listed a number of solutions for President Buhari to revive the economy said there is an immediate need for “a Presidential Proclamation at the National Assembly, switching from austerity to growth policy. The Federal Government needs to spend more to boost growth. Mr Agbakoba where do u see the money to spend more. Again, putting more money into the economy will only give this cabals and politicians opportunitiies to cart away the money just like the bail out given to governors of about 28 states. There must be strict regulation of monetary movement to curb a even greater problem "corruption " which is the main reason we are in this predicament in the first place. Also,i don't know y much emphasis and expectation is been placed on the federal government while the state and local governments just sit around like a graduate living in his father's house and jobless, let them start taken some responsibilities and stop waiting for federal allocation |

Balarabe Musa says Nigerians should protest against Buhari Northern leader and national chairman of Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Balarabe Musa has told Nigerians to protest against President Buhari’s administration. Daily Post quoted Balarabe as telling The Sun in an interview that hunger is a powerful tool in instigating protests and since the current administration has failed in ensuring food security, then Nigerians have a right protect their interests by protesting. He however admitted that this could have dire consequences for the Buhari-led administration. He said: “ Well, they should protest. I know that it is a risk because security men may shoot them. However, they should protest because this is their life. Somebody is playing with their lives, somebody is destroying their lives, they should defend their lives and protect their interest. “Before the last general election, many Nigerians saw Buhari as an angel who could rescue the country from socio-economic problems but Nigerians are now saying that they misjudged, and Nigerians should in future make sure that they access any prospective leader critically, taking into account his records, his inclination and everything, particularly records of performance in office. “Nigerians are not different from the rest of human kinds; they are not different from the rest of the people in the world. Whatever people did in the world to protect themselves or show their anger against bad government, Nigerians can do it, and nobody should deceive himself that Nigerians are so docile, that they will not revolt. Anger pushes anybody to the limit.” According to him, “The idea of government asking Nigerians to be patient can only be sustained in a situation whereby people see hope and changes. But where people don’t see changes, where they don’t see the basis for expecting changes, and they suffer continuously, appealing to them to be patient i may befutile. “There is hunger in the land and Nigerians are dying of hunger. I dare to warn the President and everybody that can listen, that history has proved that mass hunger, hunger of the population, mass poverty of the population, killer hunger have always been the most immediate cause of proletarian revolution in every country of the world. And the President should know this; let him not be deceived by those who are benefitting from the current situation of hunger.” Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi-West Senatorial District has called on President Buhari to take drastic measures on the ailing economy , including the immediate sack of the minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, minister of budget and national planning, Senator Udo Udoma and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele. Melaye, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, September 4, said the president must shake up his cabinet and accused some members of cabinet as lacking the capacity to deliver on the mandates of their ministries and agencies.
