Oh my God,

@Gbade.X

This Channel is the Bomb shocked

I mean you should have seen the advert i saw on Dstv on Cartoon Network.

It is an action-packed, ass Kicking, butt whupping, dedicated channel to animes. Just Google it and check out the info. Its going to be launched on the 3rd

of November.

But the biggest Bleep up is " that it wont be shown in nigeria ". It is meant to be shown in south africa only.

This is a general alert to all nairalanders of the anime section. This is our chance to get a good anime channel in naija and those

South Africans are messing with us. We should rise up with one voice and demonstrate against this insensitvity.

My people let your voice be heard.

Animes are simply Japanese cartoons (available for all ages).
The pornographic ones have a different name entirely.

Animax (アニマックス, Animakkusu?) is a Japanese anime satellite television network, established and owned by Sony Corporation, and dedicated to broadcasting anime programming. Headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, Japan, its shareholders include Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sunrise Inc., Toei Animation Inc., TMS Entertainment Inc., and Nihon Ad Systems Inc. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Operating across Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Latin America, and most recently in Europe (launching across Central Europe from April 2007, Germany from June 2007, and soon in the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, Spain and France)[7][8] and Africa, Animax is the first and largest 24-hour network dedicated to anime in the world. [9] [6] Its title is a portmanteau of the words anime (アニメ, anime?) and max (マックス, makkusu?).[10]

Too bad they snubbed Naija on this one. You can catch fresh Episodes of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim here. New episodes are posted every Friday. I only watch Boondocks, Trinity Blood, Ghost In a Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eureka 7, Big O , Lucy the Daughter of the Devil, and sometimes Moral Orel. . . the rest I ingore. ENJOY, fellas.

Re: Animax: New 24 Hours Anime Channel On DSTV Nov 3rd by mordebe: 12:25pm On Nov 12, 2007
well i think we should make our minds known and send 2d dstv website or office, mails and messages saying we want all those channels shown in nigeria as well or thre will be consequences, nigeria is their biggest market even bigger than the s.a market, when they are not able to provide us with the full coverage of the premiership, one would expect them to compensate their subcribers in nigeria with more and new channells instead they are depriving us compared to the amount of stations being shown to their s.a subcribers, maybe when people stop buying dstv and go 4 hitv ,maybe then they wiill apreciate the nigerian market

Yes, infact that's a very good idea. I think we should do just that.

Can you believe this shit

Africa

In August 2007, it was announced that Animax would be launching across several countries in Africa, including South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe,

Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique and Lesotho, on the DStv satellite service.[32][33] It began broadcasting in South Africa and other African countries on

November 3, 2007.[34]

It has been a long time that DSTV has been depriving Nigerians of several channels. For instance, DSTV does not show Travel channel and Bloomberg in Nigeria whereas it does in SA.

This is another side-effect of the law created to protect "our" interests.
DSTV cannot obtain exclusivr broadcasting rights for the whole continent including Nigeria.
I don't understand why they can't go ahead and obtain non-exclusive rights, though.
Re: Animax: New 24 Hours Anime Channel On DSTV Nov 3rd by samir101ng(m): 6:00pm On Nov 14, 2007
what law are you talking about

please explain more.

all i know is that they have a new channel and they no wan gives us.

besides, there is no local, shocked shocked infact african anime tv channel to protect against.
