I actually witnessed a bullion van robbery about 2yrs ago in owerri. Twas like an action film, come and see how they pumped bullets into the bullet proof van till the van no fit move again. Funny thing is, the van was moving with 3 escort vehicles so mopol wey dey inside go be like 20 & they all ran for their lives. Then, this young guy just opened the side door and ran into my grandma village...i wonder how he wasnt hit by any bullet. Then the robbers used gas cylinder to break open the vault and left with 4 5ft long round bags, i can only imagine how much was in those bags. Oh, i was on d roof of my grandma house while all d drama ensued. |

Never experienced one before and i'm fervently prayin i dont. I remember a thread on NL where a lady narrated how the dad escaped thru the backdoor leaving only her at the mercy of robbers and how the mum didnt take it easy with the dad when she got back from vigil the next day. Very hilarious |

I am interested in the most potent guns I can get legally or illegally. Including a sniper rifle to pick out muthafckers from a safe part of my roof while they are beating a retreat. Yea, my first yr at uni. I just got admitted and was staying off camp. Just spent 2wks in the new environment, then one midnight, i heard heavy bangs at my kitchen door. I also heard my neighbours making hush sounds and i woke my rummie. He told me they were thieves, that we should hurry and hide our valuables. Thieves!!! I was panting heavily as that was my first time. We hid the phones and chargers, money, wrist watches etc. By then, the guy had succeeded in entering the kitchen. It was a self-contained room, so he got confused, he broke the next door and it was a birthroom, the next door he broke lead to the balcony, i heard the guy cursing under his breath in a heavy native accent. I was in shock, but my rumie was cool, he told me to relax, that thieves always visit the hostel. I was hearing noises simulteneously from different rooms at the hostel. My rumie unlocked our front door and left it open. Finally, the thief found his way into the room and demanded for money. My rumie told him that we've already been robed by one of them! The thief looked at him, looked at the already opened front door, looked at him again, hissed and walked out of the front door! I was shocked! Lieing to a thief! I nearly wet myself. It was all fun in the morning as each lodge mate narrated his/her ordeal. My room mate's was the funniest. The second time thieves visited my lodge wasnt funny at all. It was a routine ordeal then as my lodge was known as big-guys lodge. 2 Likes |

My experience of robbery was last 2 yrs, April 4 2010. I no fit 4get dat xperience 4 my life tym. Then robber usually operate every night so I wz already gettin use 2 gun shot because dem neva jam mi b4 bt on diz day dem land 4 our house. They started robbering as early as 10pm, moving frm house 2 house, compound 2 compound sending bullets 2 d air as usual 2 scare their victims...(plz I'll use modified English)...wen dem start 2 dey shoot I decide 2 go sleep, e con happen say na dat our roll dem dcide 2 rob, wen e get 2 our turn we no gree open door because no money 4 ous and dem fit kill person if dem no see money, we beg dem tire yet dem no gree go, so dem dcide 2 pass thru our window naso my uncle go carry cutlass dey wait 4 dem by d side of d window. As dem break am finish, 1 of dem try 2 put em head no way so em con 1st put em leg as em leg just enter naso my Uncle nak em leg wit d cutlass bt dis robbers na beta trained 1s, d guy withdraw em leg witout shouting na so all of dem com dey pour bullet 4 d door of d ous 4 ova 3 hrs bt d door no gree open, dem promise 2 kill person if dey enta,7 person dey ous dat dey 2 pikin,1gurl, 3 boys and my uncle. My uncle run commot 4 ous as 1 of d boys wn follow na so dem catch am con drop bullet 4 em gead afta series of begging, dem later gain entrance inside d ous,I dey 4 my hiding place with bible by my side dey quote all d bible verse I knw. Dem see d pikin dem 4 thr hiding place, bt dem no see d gurl nd me..wen dem catch d oda boi, dem con dey argue btw dem seleves whether make dem kill am or nt bt as dem dey argue em jump thru d fence run.wen d theives dem enta ous I try 2 look thr face bt evrywhr dey dark...We call Police O! Yes July 4,1996 I had just returned from Bible study at 8:15pm and parked my car in the compound.i didnt know that 4 young boys had entered the compound as i was parking the car.I was single then and my one bed room flat was a boys quarter apartment at the back.I went up the stairs and when i got to the top of the stairs, i heard footsteps behind me.I was already opening the front door when i heard the footsteps.I asked the boy coming up whom he came to see.He did not reply until he finished the climb.Then he announced his identity 'We are armed robbers'. For a few seconds,my mind went blank. when i came to consciousness, i fled into the sitting room and tried to lock the door from behind.Unfortunately,in that panic,i left the keys in the lock in the front.I abandoned the front door and fled in the direction of the bedroom.it was then that i realised that the bunch of keys was in the lock of the front door.Then three boys entered and came up to meet me in the front of my bedroom. they said to me ''Do you think that you can escape? The 4th boy was at the foot of the stairs watching. They opened the bedroom door and i was pushed in.I was asked to lie down and i did.I saw two pistols on them.the boys were teenagers and i was at least 12 years older than any of them.I obeyed them and lay flat to save my life oh!They ordered me to give to them 'their money',that they came to collect 'their money'.I had only N420.00 and it was in the car.They started searching. within 30 minutes they did a clinical and professional search,turned the whole place upside down.If i had any money hidden anywhere in the apartment,they would have seen it. A neighbour was having a naming ceremony in the vicinity and the loudspeakers were at their loudest.if they had fired,nobody would have heard.They left eventually,taking away with them my video cassette recorder as the only benefit of the raid.They locked me in and took the keys away.It was a horrible experience but i was not hurt by the grace of the Almighty God.i remember that for about 15 minutes after their departure,i was still lying on the floor in fear.For a week afterwards, i could not sleep. I remember when armed robbers visited or hostel in school them, we just dey noise, people dey shout, me and my roommate now suspected that it must be armed robbers, we started hidding all our valuables inside clothes that where in the laundary basket, but lucky us the didn't enter our room, in one room the entered the girls where 2, u know as girls the wear sexy night grown without pant, na so the armed robbers the push them around, the one wey no wear pants come fall for bed everything just show, and the robbers don the plan to go, one no gree go again say he must rape the girl as others the call am, the guy insist say he must rape the girl, as him the beat the girl to try open her legs, before he will bring out his p r I c k want enter the chic the the guy just released, the next morning as her room mate the explain the incident na so laugh we dey laugh for hostel so tee we forget say the Rob us. |

[b]Some local dudes took decided to rob my hostel at around 1am one day. I heard them kicking down doors, starting with the rooms close to the main gate. I woke my roomie up and we decided to high tail it out of there before they got to our room 'cos we were broker than the Zimbabwean economy and didn't want them to vent their frustration on us. As we were sneaking out, the Arrow knocked down a bench in the darkness; the sound was louder than an artillery shell exploding! One of the robbers shone his torch at us and yelled for us to stop. Stop ke? Abi you dey mad, oga? I leapt over the fence and took off into the bushes while my roomie ran back to the room and pretended to be asleep. I eventually took refuge up one cashew tree close to the compound and watched as they escaped with their loot when they were done. Got back to find that the modafokas took my N20 and N5 shiny-as-a-modafoka notes I was using as bookmarks for books I read.
