Boko Haram isn't the problem. An unresponsive Nigerian FG and complacent Nigerians are the biggest problems in Nigeria today. The first step to changing anything in Nigeria is to activate the Nigerian FG. My method involves Aso Rock, kerosene molotovs, and military backing.

Sovereign national conference, leading to a TRUE federation (or Confederation of 6 or 8 regions) where each federating unit keeps at least 50% of revenues derivable from its efforts/resources (this includes tax that places like Lagos/Rivers are being robbed of); and a weak centre dealing only with foreign affairs, armed forces and other issues that may be designated to it on the exclusive list. Making the central gov't less attractive and less all powerful would eliminate this do-or-die national politics we witness today. Also, it can be included in the new constitution that any region or federating unit that wants sharia is free to adopt it, after proper realigning of boundaries to seperate them from other faiths who may not wish to be part of their religious fervour.

Alternatively, you can dust off the 'Aburi Accord' that's been on the shelf since b/4 the civil war, and implement it- making little adjustments to reflect present day realities that were not considered at the time.

The entity called Nigeria must it be one? Why can't we accept in the first place that amalgamation was a historical mistake.
