@ Akolawole,

It's always "doing me somehow" to pay all that train money anytime
I'm in the UK.

I go regularly to Grays Essex and I usually buy zone 1 to zone 4. I
guess zone 4 ends in West Ham (or Barking) but I just can't imagine
paying extra.

Make dem no cancel my visa o. shocked No more Old Trafford be dat.

@Akolawole!
I want totaly disagree with you that international students who wants to open an account with either HSBC OR Barclays are not entitled to credit cards or loans ,yeah debit card that they will give you,Ikno some people do back door runs and na ds Oyinbo be the guru for wayo, what you said is correct but na back door runs be that, cause I know some one who just came in to the uk as an international student and was told he cannot even open a student account exceprt he has been legally resiednt in the uk for d past 3years and he was advised to open another type of account which is also good for international students.
Back to the topic,Nigerian students like to dey form,a friend called me recently and was tellin me about one of our colleagues wey dey jand and that the guy bought a jaguar and they were like hes a big boy ooo and the question I asked my self is in the same countrry and at hi sage is that what should be tripping him,no major investment even writers of Rich dad ,poor dad will tell you that car is a laibility and not an asset. Its obvious that most Nigerian students enter this country and they are faced with abundance/moeny shock and they just loosd it and begin to delve in things they never could have done way back home. grin

Zone 4 stopped at Barking, there's always temptation if one goes to Rainham, Chaff_100 on c2c but its dangerous.

Anyway you are united fan, what could we expect? grin

c2c trains are the most difficult set of train services to think of boycotting paying them. I do not even think of trying it. They are the cleanest set of trains operators I have come across in the UK.

I think sleep is catching me now. Phew at last.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEM EXTENDING YOUR UK STUDENT VISA ?

A Student visa can be extended in the United Kingdom if you demonstrate all of the following-
1. You are enrolled in a full-time course of study that you regularly attend, and you regularly attended any past courses you were enrolled in.
2. You demonstrate satisfactory progress in your course of study, including sitting and passing relevant examinations.
3. You would not, if an extension is granted, have spent more than two years enrolled in short courses below degree-level. (I.e. courses of less than one year in length, or longer courses broken-off before completion.)
4. You are moving between courses (you have completed your course and will be starting a new one). You should hold an Unconditional offer letter (which you have accepted) for a full-time course starting within 4 months of your previous course end date.
5. You were admitted to the UK in possession of a valid student visa entry clearance. (Unless you are a non-visa national accepted for a course at the degree-level or above.)

[b]At British student visa specialist:

• We would assist you in obtaining all the required documents from any of the Institutions that we work with without you having to pay the school fees (You can negotiate or set up a payment plan with the school as soon as you have renew or extend your student visa).

hello,

i have enjoyed being an observer thus far on this lovely forum. If anyone could help me with the following question, I'd be happy.
Please, after being granted the Tier 1 post-study work visa, what next? Time is counting down and I would like to know what kind of extension I and my husband can seek when the two years residence visa expires. Love to hear some helpful replies from d gurus, thanx.

Some queries are actually addressed better if directed to the appropriate bodies involved. I suggest you go to the home office or whichever office that handles such matters especially as you know that you are in a race against time.

Kudos to the person who started this topic, i really appreciate. I have something that is bordering me and the problem is that i will be going to the Uk soonest and when i get there, i have already planned that i will try my best and start importing cars, i know they use the right hand drive there and converting it in Nigeria takes lots of money and time. I just wanna buy 1 to start with. The only problem i have now is that i have tried searching for websites that sell used cars, but what am getting are funny prices that i can t afford. so i plead with everyone, if anyone knows any website that sell used cars @ an affordable rate, pls let me know. And if there is any advice that you can give me before i commence with this business, pls also do so.
thanks in advance

Hi Akolawole

I have been going through this thread and my attention is on the point you made about student nurses.

I am a student dependent presently in the uk and i am looking at studying nursing at one of the universities in the uk hopefully next year september. Your statement about foreign students not being able to study nursing - is this a matter of home office blanket policy covering all intending foreign students or is this just to prevent students on one course getting to the uk and switching to nursing - how does this affect someone in my situation wanting to study nursing or someone from nigeria with nursing as the first choice of course of study. Can you please explain further on the requirements to study nursing here in the uk as a non-eec citizen or are you saying that this is impossible (I'll be really surprised if it is as the uk stands to lose more with such restrictions) Your explanation is appreciated.

In addition, are student dependant able to pursue a 3 year undergraduate course (hopefully nursing) on their visa. My partner has a 14 months visa for a pg course and would be looking at staying for another 1 year for igs after graduation. How does this affect me in terms of being able to study here legally (and dv paying international student fees). Would i need to go back to nigeria to apply for a full student visa or can i switch (or do i need to) to student visa while here.

Thanks in anticipation of your response. I'll appreciate other nairalanders thoughts on this as well.
