So Gen Buhari made his statement in hausa? Haba people!!! "Kare jini, biri jini" doesn't mean there'll be bloodshed..

"Kari jini, biri jini" means there's going to be a fierce contest where both parties will work very hard.”

Why must Abati and The PDP Twist what he said....

Now they are making Buhari an Hero - Get ready for Buhari's Theory - Buharism.

God Bless Nigeria

Literal translation is usually damaging.

"Kare jini, biri jini"

Kare = Dog
Jini = Blood
Biri = Monkey

Both you and Buhari lost the benefit of doubt when he moronically spoke in Hausa vernacular.

I think there is no need making unnecessary issue out of Buhari's adress.
Even if it means what PDP translated it to be. It was a conditional statement, ''If they rig, violence will erupt''. This implies that PDP determines whether there will be violence or not.
Their reactions has so far shown that they prefare to rig, but do not want violence. That is foolish.
It is never a sin to adress people in a language they can best understand.
At least you can't go to your village and be adressing evryone in english.
To me, Buhari has not done anytin wrong.

As a guy who wants to become a national leader, why doesn't he speak in a language everyone can understand (English) rather than his own regional language?

Very strange....

I wonder why even CPC aknowledged that Buhari's statement was inflamatory? Ain't most of them Hausa speakers?
This late night show "patch 'im up" translation is a fail from where I stand.

This is exactly the translation that the Hausa woman on AIT gave. But he may not be talking in the literal sense.

I think the problem here is who defines what amounts to a rigging and a free and fair election?

In Buhari's world any election that does not have Buhari's prefered outcome must have been rigged.

This is why statements like these are very dangerous.

For those Hausa Language speaking experts trying to differentiate between translation and transliteration. Please produce the whole text of his speech and a full translation and I think it will be very easy to decipher if your version of what Buhari meant fits correctly into the whole speech and the context or intent of the speech.

There is a very fine line of demarcation between spin doctoring and total mis-representation and I think that line is getting blurred on this issue.

Ah. So this Buhari speech was not meant for the entire nation, just the local audience.

I see.

What is wrong with Buhari speaking in Hausa? Is he your president? People just keep finding reasons to discredit Buhari even though he has his own faults. It won't be a problem if Orji Uzor Kalu speaks Igbo while in Aba or Obasanjo speaking Yoruba while in Abeokuta but it's a problem when Buhari does the same. SMH.

Some people seemed to be worried that he spoke hausa which in their dirty minds gives credence to the fact that he's an extremist.

Nobody cares what language he spoke in. But every time he says something horrendous, he always says it in Hausa and claims afterwards that the translator misquoted him. He did it with the Sharia issue. He did it just before the elections. And now his supporters are trying to help him to it again.

The man is just a really bad politician and also a bad leader. Anybody that talks before he thinks . . . . .

Just thinking . . . . . . I hope Buhari is not Schizophrenic! Below is the definition. Please compare with his words.

Schizophrenia (/ˌskɪtsɵˈfrɛniə/ or /ˌskɪtsɵˈfriːniə/) is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and by poor emotional responsiveness.[1] It most commonly manifests itself as auditory hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction

Dog and the Baboon What does that have to do with elections. Where is the correlation. Dog and Baboon soaked in blood. You gat to have a different kind of thinking to come up with that!! Auditory Hallucinations & Bizarre Delusions!!

Who gives a finger about what OBJ says while addressing an owambe crowd in Ibadan or mouthing off during naming ceremony in Abeokuta? The same goes to OUK when downing a cup of palm wine during yam festival and blowing steam about the roads in Aba.

Buhari was on a televised stage while granting an interview pertaining to Nigeria and expected election. Is the pending election in Nigeria meant for Hausa or Fulani or northern folks alone?

This bloody fool called Buhari has in a subtle manner told Nigerians he is eying the presidency of northern region of Nigeria.

A patch too late!!! Too late!!!! I wonder who is even trying to patch the man, he is unsellable and cannot be patched, btw the northern governors agree with him so what the need for the patch??
The problem is that Buhari and the Northern politicians think they are so popular, and his followers are equally disillusioned likewise.
