Yes, before I write any proposal, I always have a conversation about what the client wants, any sites they would like to model theirs after, when they want the site done, if they will need a logo, if they will want me to do site updating and maintenance, etc. It is then and only then that I can know how much to charge.

As I tell them, "in order for this to be a win-win situation, you need to help me so I can in turn help you"
