Bought my Nokia 1100 for 32,000 Naira.
MTN sim was 28,000 Naira.
We were charged by minutes and not by seconds.

dont 4get the days when call centers use pole and antenna 2get signals or when u need climb an upstair building or a tree in ur village when u are expecting or about to make a call.
sometimes, u hv to pay for calls u recieved in a call center.

I think the phone was about 22k, a nokia 3310i. While the sim was about 16k. . .that was around - June-July 2002. Very useless line then, Mtel. I had to journey several miles just to buy a recharge card.

Mine was N8000 Sim may be N500 or N1500 for Vmobile and Nokia 1100 in the year 2005 after usin the trium that was givin to me by my mum with sim Card.

I bought my MTN sim card for N 17,500 and it was considered really cheap at that time in 2003. My phone (an LG phone) was purchased at the rate of N 22,000. It is very interesting that I still have the sim card in question but have not been using it because I have been out of the country for about 4 years now.

Sold sagem phones with sim around # 24,000. I guess it was 2oo1 then, never cared usin one

Back then sm1 was to pay me 20k for a TV he bought frm me I had to collect his sim cos it was the d equiv. But I had a 3310 I always carry about without a sim card,i even use 2 make fake calls when in public places. Hahaha got a chic with dat anyway.

mine was when MTN did an Easter promo that i bought my SIM for 8,000 two days later Glo sold their SIM for N1:00 i nearly faint.

I didn't buy my first phone but the first I bought was in 2004. A Sagem MyX-1 together with a MTN sim for about N16000.

To think that was the best deal we had after going from shop to shop and "begging", mcheew.

Hmmm... Mine was a motorola phone,though my dad bought it for us den wen he went to Israel around 2002/2003..couldn't use it immediately cos it had to go thru some unblocking series like dat. Got my mtn sim for 11,500 that same year. Then recharge card cost 1500 n u are told to recharge every month or u will forfeit ur line. Mehnnn...MTN dealt wit Nigerians dat time oo. Haba!!. Funny enuff I still use dat my line till date(am emotionally n psychologically attached to it). Lol!!

My sim cost 20K. Still using that first Buddie sim. They have sold and re sold our service provider(they only inform the subscribers when the complete sale). This is our checkered history - Econet to V-mobile, Celtel, Zain, to Airtel. Service is still not wonderful now.

My first phone was a funny looking sagem.Can't remember the cost. But it was one of those rugged ones that fall on the floor or wherever and all you need do was pick all the pieces together, fix and your phone is working. The only snag was that the noise when it rang could wake a dead person!After some years I sowed it into the life of someone who was willing to take care of my faithful phone.Today I use a phone that I have to carry like an egg. Can't even think of what will happen if it falls. Why kin gbese be this! My phone life was simpler with my old faithful sagem!

I'm sure a good number of girls wouldn't know anything about the price of their first phone and sim card. That question would have to be directed at sugar daddies, "uncles", and boyfriends.

N35,000,It was the buy 1 and get 1 free promo,i think it was the 2nd promo ran by MTN when they started,the fone i got for it was a NOKIA 3310.Then 3310 was the toast of the country,i remeber i had many friends cos i have a phone.

I bought mine Motorola with small pole in Togo in 2002 cfa200,000 and the SIM in Lagos for 22,000

And you don't want to call when the signal is poor. No place for trial and error . You unbuckled your wristwatch, Clinged it with your fingers and started counting the moment the dude at the other end picked your call. When you heard" the number you called is not . . . . " you speedily cut the call lest the call entered voicemail. The first phone I handled belonged to a friend. The way the thing would vibrate when you put it on was intimidating. They guy carried the phone for a long time without a single contact.
My first phone was that small Nokia with a torch light, can't remember the name now may be because it was stolen the second day in a bus on my way to school. I called the guy for days he was begging me to leave him alone that i was causing him to feel guilty. The guy no fit remove the sim o. Sweet memory indeed
