How many months is your ds? Hot head could be teething fever, just clean it with water since his temp is normal(how many deg) and no infection or malaria.

He's going to be OK dear.

@bigiyaro, I think you should continue with the breast milk. One of my kids had this as a baby too. The pharmacist that was to dispense the eye drops told me flatly not to use it. He recommended breast milk and it went gradually. Relax.

Yours might be harmless, his might not be.
Let's be mindful of the advice we dish out, unless you have seen the child and you have some sort of Medical background. If gbege burst you no go dey o, patapata you go deactivate and return with a new moniker.
The breastmilk hasn't been working for 4 days now, 4 days of glued eyes, the pathogen is multiplying and his immune system hasn't caught up.

Thank you for this. I truly appreciate. The problem with saving on my notepad is that sometimes I unknowingly delete them. Also I change phones quite often.

In that case You can download Google docs and save the notes there. It's a cloud based word file. That way it gets saved online and you can access it from any where with internet.

Please can you give me advice on how best to treat eela and heat rashes in a 4month old?

Thank you. I appreciate all your effort to help people on this page whether you know them or not, you are really trying.

For eela, I've never experienced it with any of my babies cos they are always skinny booboos. But I heard plenty testimonies with the red alcalypha plant. You book it and bsyhe your baby with it. It stains so avoid using white towels while st it. You can also drink it (I don't subscribe to babies drinking agbo) and hopefully a good dose of it will pass on to the baby.
Also avoid using certain creams or steroids (eg Funbact A or skineal or baby tribotan mixed with ori is thought to maintain a good skin color), it actually disrupts the normal flora (the bacteria that are part and parcel) of the skin and leads to skin diseases. These normal flora serve as the first line of defense (cos they are like the area boys of the skin so that any foreign bacteria that settles will be quickly chased off, when the foreign bacteria is too strong, then the immune system sets in, when the immune system cannot handle it, you need drugs). Steroids and some creams disrupt the normal flora.
I recommend any natural oils, because it is natural just like we are (from nature) so there is a high tendency that our body is familiar with these oils and easily absorbs them. The oils are also rich in vitamins that are really good for skin and hair (all oil-based vitamins are great for skin). There are a lot of natural oils, google and choose one which will be easy for you to make or buy and will be just right for your pocket.
Other treatment for eela that has worked for some include use of steroids (please stop as soon as the symptoms disappear), cacatin is herbal (caca bark), keeping the affected part clean and dry (eela is fungal and fungi can only grow in moist place which is why you'll find eela in hidden or folded skin). You can keep it clean by wiping with a water based wipes or just a damp rag, you can apply powder ( be careful so powder dust/particle doesn't settle on your child), and you can try to dress minimally for the baby.
Another culprit could be your bath water.

For rashes, its simple.
Don't overswaddle. Biko let the child breathe but not to over expose to cold o.
Secondly, I noticed that my daughter got a rash while she was using Aveeno in the first few weeks of her birth, we switched to coconut oil and no issue till date.
On hot afternoons, don't overdress the child and a quick shower when he's hot and stick won't hurt.
Sometimes I use Rising raving powder when the heat is overbearing.

If you don't mind, use Funmicoconuts, I know of people that use her cold pressed coconut oil and have only great reviews. It might seem expensive but trust me it lasts for a longer time and is worth every drop.

Lol thanks a lot. We just changed creche and they keep asking about her snack even tho I just pack all food like hunniesuzzie for every 4hours. Ive been telling them no snack But I started wondering if all kids her age pack snacks and she's the only snackless kid that has no snack at snack time. I'm scared of using snacks to replace a meal so she doesn't go hungry esp since she's not a buscuit/cheeseball fan but I was thinking of getting those compartment flasks and cutting up enough fruits, fish and eggs which she loves and just labelling that snacks. cheesy

One oyinbo girl in my class doesn't bring biscuits or juice o.
The mama has this kind of lunch box you posted.
She will pack nutella sandwich in one side, the others will be filled with cut up fruits and veggies (apples, grapes, olives, carrots, cucumber, prickles, tomatoes, sweet pepper etc)
Another one that we used to disturb to get snacks just packs 2 bananas or one cut up apple.
Case closed cheesy

Thank you very very much for the detailed response, you are too much. May Allah reward you.

I had already gone to buy an antifungal cream to rub and even rubbed it twice already but I will stop immediately. I didn't know its bad to rub it on baby's body.

I will also go and find red leave tomorrow, insha Allah. Thanks again.

Check with traders in the baking supplies section at any major market around you.
If you are in Lagos and you need in large quantity, the wholesalers are at Ojota.

Cheers
Thank you..

it will stop on its own after a while.
You mostly get relief by using pain relievers.

Good morning Mamas, happy weekend
My first question here. I have been on peeping mode

Please my DD had 3 boils on her head 2weeks ago and I took her to see the doctor who prescribed Augmentin and Vitamin c which dried everything up. But yesterday I noticed another one on her head plus some other rash like with pus (not boil) and it's moving to her neck area .
Picture attached to see what it looks like.
It's strange to me because I have never experienced skin Issues with my other kids

Has anyone experienced this? Please what can I use?

Kindly help me please.

This is my daughter... she doesn’t like tea nor milk but package juice I try to pour it inside her water cup and she take it with smile.

As for finger food, find a flat fancy plate and put fried plantain in it. Put it in his play mat and you won’t know when he will finish it. Also, try and be giving him slice bread.

He loves bread. So I give him bread with lots of water
But he won't collect it and self feed. He will prefer you feed him.
He can finish 2 slices of bread

A medical doctor usually prescribes eye drops or ointment for such cases, which usually don't get absorbed into the body, like an oral drug will do.
Thank God its clearing.
