itsmelex: @Julicoka, just thinking about your daughter reminds me of a boy I know, he's 8mnths+ now and doesnt take pap, cerelac, baby formulas... but if you see him with semo ehn? omg! he drags food with adult oh, be it eba, semo, rice, beans...any adult food but semo is his favourite. Have you tried adult food? does she show some interest when adults eat? just thinking sha....Or Omogemi have you also thought in this line? hmmmm! no be joke oh!

yes o my sister. some children eat more of adult food than their cereal. i hv seen a little plump 9 month old baby abt the same age as my baby and guess what d mother says is her best food; EBA. these children can be funny at tims.

demmykay: Tanks omogemi, he is actually taking bosom milk well. I was given suitrox(azithromycin) for 3days and flygy. His poo is watery. I took him back to d clinic today nd was given ocefix(cefixime) to administer for 7days. Pray it soothes him. Once again tanks omogemi

he' ll b fyn. so long as he's taking the breast milk. its lyk this is ur 2nd baby coz i v seen ur posts in the early part of this thread. anyway God bless all our babies. also try cleaning ur breasts. u never know. ur sweat could also contribute. just keep an eye on him and observe his stool. he ll be very fyn.

My girl loves them! She has been eating them since 4mo & she is 6mo now & looks forward 2 them as sunday lunch. You will start with 1/2 a jar, so she gets used to the taste.

It will taste that way because the fruits are boiled. I discovered this when I made apple puree for my girl, it tasted much too sweet, I actually mixed it with pap for a while to tone down the taste.

Hello,

My first baby's naming ceremony was held yesterday and I honestly think that authorizes me to part of this thread smiley smiley smiley. It's a great to be a Father: I'm loving it sha smiley smiley.

@Mothers in the house, how do we handle Jaundice, my son was diagnosed to have Jaundice but the doctors said it isn't much in his body system. We had repeated three tests within one week and was asked to come again tomorrow for another test to see if the Jaundice is progressing or not. I'm afraid my little one will be punctured again and wouldn't want it to happen. I'd told my wife we're not going that the baby will be fine.

How do we handle it,please?

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by corrall(f): 4:06pm On Jul 29, 2013
Please back to the Gerber, does it mean we cannot mix it with any other thing, just direct from the bottle. I bought one, chicken puree bla bla, i want to mix it with maybe mashed potato or extremely soft noodles for her. she is 7 months. I hope it will be okay. what do you think?

And also the apple sauce i bought, same gerber's, it tasted soo concentrated enh, well...

slim05: Hi mothers, my 8 weeks old baby has not pooed in 2 days and he seems uncomfortable, what can I do please.

You can put a little mentholatum on cotton bud and gently insert it in his bum for a split second. It always works for M̶̲̅ε̲̣.

@Mcremad. Congrats again on ur boy. Have u guys heard of unripe pawpaw for jaundice. Its soakerd it water for a day and a few drops is given to d baby. Would have suggested the early morning sun , but the waether is too harsh right now. You may have to take him in for phototerapy if his bilurubin levels are still high.

On gerber/purity foods, I've never mixed the jar food with milk or pap. Infact it think its written on some of the flavours that it shudnt be mixed with milk :/

Cheers all

@kenny, i actually hv some jars of garber; pear, sweet potates and mixed fruits. My daughter dont seem to lyk them. I understand it has to be warmed before its eaten. I give her straight from d jar. Did i give her wrongly?

Thank you K4kenny, the doctors said the bilurubin levels are not too high as it is less than 10, that was why we're discharged. Though, they asked us to come for another test today, but I wouldn't as I don't seem to like the way the baby was punctured for blood collection the last time we went. We're using the soaked unripe pawpaw. Thanks a bunch ma. Trust you're doing good.

I agree, as long as the Baby is healthy that what counts not when your baby is over weight and looks like Mr Dunlop , I know a couple who pumped there Baby Boy with all sorth of Baby 'feed' at uncontrolled portion. By the Boys 9month he was so fat that He's 'we-we' was disturbingly tiny. At that point they started running from one pediatrician to another.

When did you start the nan1? I'll sugest U stop giving her the nan for now and see how she feels, she may be constipating. For me 2weeks is too early to start introducing baby to formulas. If your wife has not resumed work she should stick with the breastmilk for some time. She can eat well and take lots of fluid to help the quantity of milkflow-pap, tea, kunu, palmwine...could help greatly. For me, kunu did the magic!

For the discomfort, U can put warm water in her anus or as somone said, U can put menteletum in cutton bud and insert lightly in the anus. U can also GENTLY massage the stomach and do a mini cycling with her legs. Mum should also eat lots of fruits and veg to help baby's system. Avoid the environment being stuffy(fries, damp, smoky and all) Hope this helps.

The Nan shoudn't be too thick.Try using hot water on the anus.(not too hot).If you must continue with the formular, buy nospamin drops,it helps to relieve tummy troubles.

]When did you start the nan1?

Some mother's do not produce enough milk so have to complement with formular. Nothing wrong with that. The only way to know she is not eating eanough is if is not gaining the appropriate weight for her age.

However, she may be constipated as you said. She can warm the milk before giving her and ensure it is mixed as written on the tin. Breastmilk is still the best for a baby but sometimes, they need more.

@Blank. Yeah, U'r right! I actually asked that question to know if the reaction was as a result of the nan, I was thinking maybe her tummy isnt accepting it(that is if the discomfort startd as a result of it) so I thought if stoping the nan improves the situation then she may try another product, ofcourse after being certain the discomfort was bc of the nan... Strictly my thought!

Making it light is also a good option.
