It has nothing to do with price or brand

If you buy infant car seat, it's backwards facing and the baby will use it till about age one

On the other hand you have the convertible which serves as a rear facing infant seat then converts to a forward facing toddler seat and if it's a 3 in 1 also converts to a booster which is used from age 3.

People buy the infant car seat even though it has a shorter duration because the base is detachable so u can carry your baby in the seat alone without it being heavy. Also, most of it come with its own stroller which it can snap into (without the base)

Also the convertible is kinda big for a newborn but it still works - you can use a towel / blanket to cushion the space

In summary of you want the one you can use for up to three years buy the convertible

But if you are not on a budget and you plan to have other kids - start with the infant chair

Buy any brand u are comfortable with especially if it's well cushioned. Also, infant car seat can't be used till age 2. I think d maximum age is age 1. I migght be wrong though. My baby is almost 10months and already is outgrowing the infant car seat cos you see her pulling her legs out from it, wanting to sit up etc. Already thinkin of changin to the convertible. So If you want something ur baby can use till age 2 or even age 5, buy the convertible but bear in mind that you want be able to detach it and use it as a carrier like you have in the infant one. But if want you want is something that can serve as a car seat and a carrier, the get the infant car seat but your baby won't be able to use it past age one. Chicco and Graco are good brands. Also as to when you can start puting ur baby on a car seat, car seat can and should be used even from the first day of birth, so 7weeks isn't too early

My Senior Mamas.....Am hailing.

Plz Mofe would be 4months in a week (How time flies, I still can berrivit) and has been on BF & Nan 1. Am thinking of changing to cereals at the clock of 4months. So many variety that I don't know which to settle for. My SIL is team Cerelac, a friend is team Gerber & Nutrend but I know if I come here I would be able to narrow my choice properly.

MUST BE VERY AFFORDABLE tongue

cc : modath, zaynie, sayoberry, iyomomo and all the mamas here.

Try heinz, cow 'n'gate or aptamil products. I actually used all so that baby had a variety and does not get bored

So sorry to hear that, are you sure baby is latching properly?the mouth should almost cover the areola if not completely cover it,thereby there is no strain on the nipples, you can rub a lil BM on the area every now and then. You can also try getting a nursing pillow.I hope it works out.

I try to do this but it's like impossible. The areola is big and her mouth seems kinda small for the whole areola. I just try to put as much as I can in. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the swift response.

@erei, the challenge I'm having is getting any ni.pple cream at all. I've checked everywhere in Festac, they don't have any type. Thanks.

check Healthplus pharmacies, they have the Lasinoh brand of Lanolin. I've also seen it in Balogun (but be careful of what you buy there because there's a lot of fake products mixed into the originals and sold at the same price and in the same containers).

Thanks, will ask someone to check for me.

@livelystone, I'll check that. I didn't even think of that. I just noticed she kinda leaves her tongue outside the mouth when not been fed. I make effort to close her mouth with my hand.

@stposh, thanks.

@zemaye. I'll try the Shea Butter option. Thanks.

@apple19, I think you should keep putting your baby to your breas.ts, with time it should get better.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me. I have issues with latching, lo will prefer to suck on bottles to breast. So I only pump to feed him. Anytime I tried placing her on she cries so much that I feel so bad.
Pls what should I do? And could it be tongue tie like ppl say?? I saw something like it, but my doc says since it doesn't interfere with crying and feeding that I should let her be. I don't know what to do. cry

Pele dear. You'd just have to keep trying she too will soon get the hang of it. Are the nipples inverted? Just wondering why she's not latching as expected. If inverted you keep rubbing till it come out

Hmmmmmmm most times docs don't bother about tongue tie issue. See an experienced midwife

Go and get Desitin rapid relief diaper cream. I used for my baby and the rash cleared under 3days. However I will advice you discontinue use after the rash clear and get a diaper cream whose active ingredient is Lanolin and petrolatum. An example is AD diaper oitment. It helps to prevent diaper rash.

I use baby tribotan, bt stop once d rash is gone, most times I don't use 4 more dan 5days.
My dear I don't beleive in teething poop o, I just beleive wen d baby starts teething or crawling, dey tend 2 always put dia hands in dia mouth all d time which may lead 2 dem later stooling cos of d dirt dat may av been on dis hands. Dats y if any parents can afford it, give d Rota virus vaccine, it reduces d episodes of stooling. Some ll say a baby is teething dats y he is stooling, 3mths later d baby never still get teeth.

Desitin is very effective
It also prevents diaper rash

What diaper are you using? Over pooing shouldn't cause a rash if you are using a good diaper, so you may want to look into that

Thanks @MumZ and @favoredgal. She took all her dose of rotavirus , her two lower teeth both came out at once without any issues at all i'll be more watchful of what she puts in her mouth from now on. We've been using the same diaper for the past 3 months now without issue(molfix) that's why i'm skeptical about it being the diaper. Thanks i really appreciate

You know we are both in the same ship as pa poo. But my lo never had diaper rash. What i do is change his diaper immediately he poos. Had to get cheaper diaper sef for the pooing episode so i wont feel bad when i change it like 5 times a day. Took my baby to the hospital for test so the poo was cultured and will get the result tmrw. Though it has reduced sha and i was told to watch his food and probably change his water too. So i am switching from eva to nestle and i am also switching from nutriben 4 cereals to gerber cereal cos of sugar content. Hope it works. It is well with them. Gerber specialists, please which flavour is appropriate for 8 months.

Team Gerber MULTIGRAIN here ( no viable reason, it sounds great to me) + formula ,Nestle water is our choice as well, someone claimed it's "Kange/Kangi" water, in layman speak, it's the right balance potability wise.. .

Occasionally air her butt by wearing only pant for about an hour when you can. You'll probably have to pad the area with wrappers (in case of any unexpected droppings grin) or so. But the place need to breathe with all this poo meme!

Bepanthen cream also worked wonders for me in the past. You may give it a try...
