Hi wonderful mothers on nairaland,i am a first time mum with a 2 month old baby girl who arches her back very often and it is getting me really worried.I would like to know if it is normal for babies to do that regularly.Thank you

For babies who don't like drinking water, may I suggest an alternative?

Try giving fresh watermelon. The fruit has 92% water content. Cut some and put it in the fridge for more deliciousness. Give small chunks to baby (I put it in my own and encourage her to collect it, practising her coordination and pincer movement and learning to feed herself). Also drain some of the juice as you're cutting it and put in a drinking cup to give baby to refresh herself. So baby still gets water and also nutrients. HTH.

Wahala dey o... I did exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. We actually decided to taste water and formula.. My baby took little water and refused taking it again. I gave her milk she tasted it and pushed the bottle away. I tried again she started crying. I made sure she was very hungry. I tried giving her milk again... She refused to take.
Please would she still take other food? Cause I'm scared. I really want her to start taking cereals and other food.

Mama, try other food like adult food, also puree fruits for her.use spoon and a bowl for her.

My daughter was rejecting water from her feeding bottle, so I decided to get her sipping cup, now she loves drinking water from her cup but not from bottle. try different methods and food, don't give up.

Congratulations on the bundles of joy!

I don't have multiples but I can only advise that you develop a schedule or routine and try to follow it strictly.

Accept all the offers of help you'll get from friends and family it'll be much needed.

Bulk cook as much as you can and plan meals for the week so that is doesn't add to the stress of caring for the babies.

For the schedule try and be as practical as possible and leave a little allowance for days where the twins aren't cooperating. You can do laundry while they're asleep before you get a short snooze too. Time their meals to make it easier for you

Hope this helps

A big thanks to all who shared my joy....
I really feel honoured.

@Babythug this is a nice one..I'm off to get my S to work.
Schedule Planner to work. I really agree that planning my day will go a long way to ease some stress....
I barely have time to rest due to the continuous demand for breastmilk unlike the case of a single baby...

Pls mamas where do they have pediatricians in Ikeja or Ogba. My neighbor wants to take her baby to a good one but she doesn't have time for general hospital

I was looking forward to answers to this mamas question.
I've had two bad experiences with paediatrician in Ikeja and when I saw her question, I was happy that the answer will be of great use to me.
Mamas within this vicinity pls help. I presently use lifeline children's hospital surulere but the traffic from ikeja to that place is not 'beans.' I'd prefer somewhere within ikeja too.

You just give the baby a teaspoon or less of uncooked pap. Preferably pap made by you at home or from a reliable source.

That's all

You can use damp cloth to be cleaning her body often for the mean time. What's her temperature dats if you have a thermometer so as to know if to rush her to hospital or wait till morning. Zino will be find.
Maureensylvia, I sight you grin See wat vigilante has done to you. Mine is insomnia sad

Thank God for that.
She could be teething. If it continues for more than 3 days, see the Dr.
Get a thermometer at any pharmacy.
Temp of infants shouldnt be more than 39.2C or they risk brain damage.
The thermometer helps you know when to control the temp or when to race to the hospital.
Very easy to use. Remove cover, Switch on, Put the metal end under armpit, wait for temp to read and when you hear the beep, check. If it is Fahrenheit....simply type the figure eg "98.5F into Celsius" on google and the answer will be provided.

What position do.you place her to.sleep? Could it be that?
Change position to the side and place something behind her so shd wont roll to the back and lets see...

Can't think of anything else. You may need to see your paed on the subject if it continues though

I do not wait for days before taking my baby to hospital once he is running temperature its very risky. Take her asap. I'm my case once my son is running temperature I'll check if it's been long I treated malaria n once I give him anti malaria he is fine most times
