I for wonder, coz I know dat usually happens only in hiv infected patients.

sugah:

Thanks. We went to the hospital and he tested positive for infection.
The "Mouth thrush" only turned out to be milk residue, it should have occurred to me o cos he only started taking formula from the bottle the day before . IV learnt my lesson about self diagnosis cry
It's the infection that's making him not eat...we were given antibiotics and Bcomplex.
Thanks again

No oh. It's also quite common in babies as a result of milk residue in their mouths

Ocp is oral contraceptive pills

sugah:

Over the counter pills.
The first time I was feeling very nauseous (vomited a few times), and I was feeling 'kicks in my stomach. Did pregnancy test and scan and the scan detected it was in my cervix.
Doc removed that one and put another one by himself this time, first was done by the nurses, on Monday last week. DH complained he was feeling the copper then I startehaving spotting, pains and burning sensation when I pee. Went in today and doc discovered it has expelled again.
what dh was feeling is thread and not d copper. Cu is the part touching your womb.

Speaking of milk residue, is it ever too early to clean their mouths/tongue, how do you do it

Wow, first time of hearing this and I am loving it already, I am currently using a very soft face towel, I am going to try the gloves when my lo gets to 5months.
i was the only one using it initially then I bought for hubby and baby too, just a swipe on the soap and you have enough foam to bath 2 babies. very economical.

so I noticed my baby does not like to be spoon fed. so whatever I want to give him goes into the bottle. semo, pap, custard, etc even Gerber rice. hope he will eventually like it.

is the normal blueband butter suitable for 6month old?

and how do I make indomie nutritious for him, he seems to like it.

finally, exclusive breast feeding is way too easy, no need of measurements or timing. can't we just breastfeed exclusively for 1year and baby will start eating automatically. the stress of singing, dancing just for babies to eat is not nice at all, sometimes after all my wahala he will just spit everything out for me.

Wrap cotton wool around your finger. Pour some water to soak it (bottled water oh) then swipe inside baby's mouth. Dr said I don't have to do it everyday. 3 times a week is fine.

Nne, milk residue isn't thrush. Thrush is also non as oral candidiasis, it is a sign of immunodeficiency.

This is from Google
"About Oral Thrush. Oral thrush is a very common infection in infants that causes irritation in and around a baby's mouth. It is caused by the overgrowth of a yeast (a type of fungus) called Candida albicans. ... Candida overgrowth also causes diaper rash and vaginal (yeast) infections."

I don't think it's right to say thrush only happens to HIV patients. That's so wrong.

Congratz oo...Please I need tips also on how to wean my lo.

It was a gradual process, i started by reducing the number of times he breastfed till we go for once a day (esp early morning hours). Then i decided to stop, so i subtituted the morning breastfeeding with water or tea. Any time he feels like sucking i will jus distract him with water or tea or even sing around or dance dis children music, he might fall asleep or forget it. Atimes i give him biscuit or bread to keep his mouyh busy.

For my breast engorgment after weaning (that tin hurts mehn!) i'll jus wear a tight and comfortable bra. During siesta i'll free the bra. Then took paracetamol. After 3days all pains vanish. Thank God ooo

Nobody said milk residue was thrush ma. I said Candida that causes oral thrush can grow as a result of milk residue. And in infants it has nothing to do with being immunodeficient. In adults, yes, could be a sign but not infants

Haha I tried this today and it was a fail. I did it when she was hungry cuz I thought that's when she would open her mouth but she just kept sucking on the cotton wool for the water. Maybe next time I'd try it after she's been fed

Lmaoooooo. She didn't even cry. My baby cried the first time. Now he sucks the water too. Once your finger is in just swipe around. She won't keep it open freely so you have to be quick

Ma'am I am not sure this is for babies o. I use it like once a month for exfoliating . It's a bit hard to me. I guess if your baby has had no adverse reactions then it's okay.
