The country's parliament has refused to approve the 2008 sports budget, unless the Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) can account for the money it that it was allocated this year.

Of the 43 million dollars allocated, the NSC has accounted for only six million dollars.

The NSC has a deadline of Thursday to explain how the 2007 budget was spent.

Finally some action

Got to Love NIGERIA, and they say corruption is only in government?

There is not ministry in Nigeria that is not corrupt, I am starting to believe the slogan that most Nigerians are corrupt.

you can't trust rabbit with cheese. lol. This is just sad. I no wonder all the professional athletes are not responding when called to participate in games.

aso rock is the key.
sanitize aso rock and everyother sector will seat up.
if all ministries are not accounting for their spendings, why do u want the sports ministry to account for theirs.
be informed that they are all accounting but the question will be to who are they accounting for.
remember 99.99% of appointments and positions are not by merit but by selection based on your readiness to play along.
so they are all been accountable to the authorities that select them .
