Ekiti for nysc Just passed out february, and I served in the teaching hospital in ado. Useless state, aggressive, proud, stuborn and unfriendly pple. Stingy men, ugly town, zero infrastructure, nepa zero, ancient buildings everywhere and top of it all, security in ado-ekiti is zero! Cultists everywhere. Mine wasn't a great experience but I wish you guys a wonderful stay in the "land of honour".

Employment opportunities in ekiti are numerous. They have one of the highest number of schools in nigeria. Everywhere you go, school. I can guarantee you 80% of corpers posted to ekiti would end up in d classroom. And d pay package, its a handsome sum of five thousand naira a month. Even those in governor's office, house of assembly, dey all get 5k. I served in the teachin hosp so I was a lil fortunate, my salary was 30k. Apart from that,the only oda places where you can get more than 5k are the banks and private companies (wich are few anyways).

90% of the employment opportunities are schools.if you're (un)lucky enough to be posted to the hinterlands like ekitiwest,well,only faith can aid your survival

i was lucky enough to be mobile and i can tell you i used to "escape" back to lagos every thursday to return on tuesday.it required "appeasing" my LGI but it was better than the place i was.however,i have to confess that some connections i made in ekiti state still help till date.the former member of the house of rep,honourable kehinde odebunmi is one of the most hospitable and down to earth men i know.engr segun ogunleye is the same.suffice to say in ekiti,you can get what you want if you know what you'kre looking for.but the opportunities arent just available.the people arent too bad and they're generally honest though very stubborn.when you eventually get your posting letter and PPA,i can give more info.i take pride in the fact that i went to every single place in ekiti including those that damaged my shock absorber and boris

Queens court and pathfinder are their top hotels with night club..but their location is like going from WUSE 2 in abuja to NYANYA in nassarawa. ( In summation: RUBBISH)

Corner shops and lock up shops close as early as 8.30pm and open as late as 11am...( Lazy people)

All of you spewing rubbish here don't know anything. You're not grateful you were posted to a peaceful zone. Those posted up north would give anything to be in your shoes. You should be happy to that you got a non-volatile state and stop whinning. Better free your mind and go spned your 1 year jeje and try to make the nest of your time there. Ekiti doesn't have much money compared to other state so try and enjoy yourself in the few available fun places there. You could visit Ikogosi warm spring and some other places within. And stay outta trouble.

Ekiti is a good place to serve though it depends on the local government area that your PPA will be. Most corpers will be posted to secondary schools.

Don't know much about the party life (not currently in Ekiti), but you'll enjoy the social life. Every body is nice and welcoming. You'll make a good amount of friends and families.

If I shld tell U about d state(eastern N4000/month, even older than Ekiti) where I'm servin presently too, Ekiti is by far better. D Hospitality n Security u'll get in Ekiti could not actually be compared. D quality of Goods & Services, Cost of Living, Respect and Acceptability u'll get being a Corps member cuz they value education can't be over-emphasized. So past Corp members, stop WHINNING. Batch B corpers, don't go along with a poisoned mind. Ekiti'll be fun for U all....

I'm currently servin at Ekiti and i'm not regretin any part of it. It might not have been what some pple desired but we are all supposed to adapt. Ekiti state might not b rich as compared to other states but they are still better off than some.

Until i got to Ekiti before i knew pipe-borne water still existed in Nigeria, 24hrs pipe water, electricity is good (might not b all over the state) but in my LGA and a few i've been to it like 18hrs or more daily. Students even respect corpers more than they do to their teachers.

Incomin corp members, dont be afraid, its not as bad as its painted here, come with an open mind and u'll sure enjoy ur stay.


N.B other LGA are better off for corpers than the state capital (ado-ekiti).

I'll be taking your comment lightly. Where is the arrogance in what I have just said. I even made it a point to tell that and or concur to some raised points by previous posters that things aren't that fine there. I said Ekiti doesn't have much money compared to other states. How is that arrogance? Pray tell. At any rate, subsequent posters have attested to the situation in Ekiti so its no biggie what mindset you've got there. I've been to other threads esp those of corp members posted to the north. Most of 'em are lamenting. For those posted to Ekiti or anywhere down south, I think what is more important is having your life and staying safe rather than looking for trouble all in the name of fun. When you're in rome, you behave like the Romans. Enjoy your stay there. God be with you all as you go.

Ado-Ekiti and Ikere are the major beta towns in Ekiti. There are accomodation for corpers atleast there are NCCF, NACC family houses. If u'll need to rent for urself u'll always get.

As regard PPA, ekiti doesnt have oil companies o, their major industry as they say it is EDUCATION.

NYSC corpers, Roger federer and palace slaves have a thing in common - they serve!

My guy, God will bless you for that statement of fact. Let the indigenes keep deceiving them. Of course you cannot compare anywhere in the west to the north, up north is anoda story entirely.
